I believe the episode was nothing less than amazing. I loved every moment of it, although Axel died and I was hoping for him to develop more... The above interview with Lew Temple is really cool, thank you for posting.

As for Tyreese...

On The Talking Dead Robert Kirkman said Tyrese and his group left and we don't know where they went or when we will see them again.

This is a mistake, in my opinion. First you show us that two of Tyreese's group are willing to fight to remain in the prison, and then they are gone without us noticing??? And what about Michonne? Rick clearly stated that Tyreese and also Michonne had to leave, yet she's still there and Tyreese is gone? I don't get it...

I really doubt Tyreese and co. are far from the prison. I fully expect them to come out of hiding to see whats up after what just happened at the end of the last eposiode.

Excellent episode!

I thought the intro with Rick chasing Lori was interesting, I know a lot of people are hating the whole 'Crazy Rick' situation but I think it's quite cool.

There was some good character development and in general the episode was good and I really liked Herschel's chat with Rick.

Daryl helping the spanish guys and the baby was badass! Loved how Merle was just chilling back and then Daryl once again showing how badass he is by pulling his Crossbow on Merle. Also when Merle see's the scars on Daryls back was a sad moment, thought Merle was about to cry. Will be interesting to see how this whole brother relationship works out, I don't know if Daryl will end up killing Merle or maybe Merle will sacrifice himself for Daryl.

But the ending was intense! Poor old Axel get's shot, bit of a waste of a great character but nevermind, I was still sad to see him die.
The whole shooting was cool and when the truck full of walkers busts into the prison I was right on the edge of my seat.

I honestly thought Rick was about to get eaten by the walkers but Daryl saves the day ahaha and then Merle comes in as well which was good to see.

Any way, brilliant episode, 9/10!

Next week looks interesting as well judging by the promo's. Season 3 is awesome!

Holy shit, this episode was awesome.
It started rather slow, I couldn't care less about Lori's ghost on the last episode so I was a bit dissapointed when she showed up again today.
Last week I didn't know why Glenn was mad at Maggie, this time I don't get why she is mad at him. Why is it so bad that her boyfriend wanted to know what happened to her?

Those last 15minutes were great! A part of me is happy they didn't just headshot everybody with one bullet, but another part of me is now worried for the survival of this group lol.
The only training they've had was with walkers and now they can't really shoot people, but at least they know how to protect themselves.
At least Rick should have hit his target, he was a cop so I guess he was used to being in gun fights.

The scene when Rick was cornered by those 2 walkers was pretty cool. I knew Rick was not going to die so I wasn't worried for him, but I didn't expect the Dixons to show up the way they did, that was epic.

And Im happy Daryl is back, now Rick can lay low and get some rest, hopefully come back from crazytown.

I think what a lot of people are missing is that a lot of those walker deaths are close range. The shots at Martinez, the Gov and the dude in the tower looked to be around 100 yds each. Zombies don't shoot back, and with limited assault rifle training at a distance, I can see how there weren't any hits. The initial hit on poor Axel was legit, because there was time to target and fire, after that it was crazyness. Shots coming from every which way so they were trying to get a shot off as quick as possible. Also, the pistols being used are not that accurate over long distances. Hope this helps for you "realism" junkies.

The Guv lost an eye but gained really good hearing, I think its the second time hes heard a walker lurking right behinde him.

Finaly saw Michonne slice into some heads where the brain is located rather than just decapitations and leave ankle biters.

Glad Daryl isnt under Merles thumb and can make his own decisions. Merle seeing that his father took out beatings on Daryl after Merle skipped out probably helps Merle see Daryls side of things.

That scene right there between the Dixon brothers was awesome. Just those 2 minutes gave you, or atleast me, a lot of insight as to who they are and why they may be that way. Thought that was a great scene, especially when Merle saw the scars.

I'm just watching it again, had to stop and get more coffee.

Anyway, what a psychopath the Gov is, he is just telling Andrea how he will leave the Prison and the group alone. :zombieswear: No retribution. LMAO
The Gov is just one seething mass of revenge, it is oozing out his pores.

You can't believe anything this guy says, I hope Andrea isn't buying his crappola about her being the new leader and what a great speech she gave.
I'm watching this episode again to pay better attention at the end when the special delivery of Walkers arrives. Wouldn't it have been good if they could have used a UPS truck.
Trying to figure out who the driver was, maybe Karen. Because the van arrives a little bit after The Gov and crew get there.

Great episode, much better than last week. The Lori scene was a bit cliche but kind of sweet still. I'm still counting the days until Rick 'stops wandering crazy town'. Glenn got on my nerves again, this attitude is really off-putting. Hershal was good as the agony uncle and the dialogue between Carol and Axel was sweet. It's nice to see Carol happy and charmed, the Axel kill was brutal but i'd read the leak so I was waiting for it to happen. Big shame, apart from his creepy grooming moment with Beth, I really liked Axel. Andrea's little conversation with Milton was funny, I hope when the fall of the guv eventually happens, she takes Milton under her wing and he joins Rick's group. So proud of Daryl, he redeemed himself after last weeks display of not giving much of a damn. Even Merle showed a softer side. The whole 'daddy beat me' was really cliche though. I wasn't buying into that. It seems like Andrea is starting to grow cold towards the Guv. With peace-maker no longer looking likely, we can assume she goes to the prison against the Guvs will. Can't wait to see how that plays out. I hope the group aren't too mean to her.

i liked the episode.. 3/4 points (didn't like the Woodbury scenes, as always^^).

but what kinda bothered me during the attack was, that that shooter on the guard tower shot at Beth and Carl.. they are still kids/teens and especially Carl is looking young so he had to see that through his sniper.. idk the Woodbury soldiers may find it okay to shoot at the "terrorists who attacked them" but shooting at a girl and a boy?

Also sad Axel had to go, i liked him the last couple of episodes.. i don't get why they spoiled his death in a promo though ^^

Just curious, but if a kid comes shooting at you with a weapon of some sort, are you just gonna tell him to stop it before you get his momma, or do you take down the threat?

Sooo many things to say:

1) Andrea is an idiot. Still. Always.

2) The Gov is a grade "A" piece of poo and apparently invincible. Rick's group's inability to hit him was extremely annoying but I understand it. You don't want to kill of your supervillian too soon; the story arc still has half a season to go.

3) Glenn and Maggie's troubles are understandable. She feels violated and is having a hard time dealing and Glenn isn't helping. As I said last week, Glenn's rage is based in his inability to protect her and himself from Merle and The Gov. He's angry at himself and taking out on everyone else.

4) Rick's stroll into "Crazytown" (awesome line, btw!) has got to end soon. I understand it but I don't like to watch it.

5) Daryl's continuing character development is amazing. I love that he saved those people with the baby because it was the right thing to do, plain and simple. He has come so far from the guy that was plotting with Merle to rob the camp blind in season 1, as revealed by Merle in this episode. His decision to go back "where he belongs" and saving Rick in the process just makes me more of a Daryl fan. His biceps have come a long way as well - just sayin' and admirin'. No, I'm not a crazy Daryl fan girl but I can appreciate.

6) I also want to know how the guy got into the tower. I have to assume that it was when Glenn was planning and asked who was on watch.

7) Poor Axle. I was just starting to like him.

8) I want to know who the heck the driver of the van was. The Gov was expecting it but who was it? It couldn't be Karen or Milton. They were covering Andrea. As pointed out by several people, where did that person go after exiting the van?

9) If I were in Rick's group, I would insist that they all start having target practice. They suck at shooting.

That's a good point about the van arriving later. Although, based on last weeks episode (when Karen and Andrea were talking) she wouldn't seem like the type to do that. Who knows, though.

I'm pissed at Rick for missing Martinez.

love martinez. live on!

Oh and what was with the whole tattoo on daryles back? Did i miss somthing about that or has it not been explained yet?

They were focusing on the scars, they were talking about how Merle left when they were children, and Merle said something like "I would have killed him if I didn't leave" meaning their father, I am sure.

So tyreese and company left?

Where was Tyreese's group this episode? Will they be back?

The first ep, i am sure Glenn followed them out. Their probably in the prison somewhere and Glenn checked on them while he was checking the tombs.. Which could also explain why Glenn was a little bit more worried about walkers getting in. Tyrese has been reported to be in quite a few eps this season.
Spoiler

Where did the person in a suit go? She or he took off after releasing the zombies, and never showed her leaving, hmmmm.

Whose voice was it that kept calling Rick, did anyone recognize the voice? was it part of his hallucination?

I thought the person in the prison suit was dressed to disguise themselves... maybe the group might have recognized them? And they were oddly small to be a man, its possible but I wouldn't think.
It was Herschel calling Rick, they show us Herschel looking at Rick and want us to think Shane/Lori are calling Rick but then its Herschel.

I thought Michonne closed at least one of the gates behind him, though.

They did show Michonne closing the second gate (Second, meaning the one on the way in).

why did the governor back off? they weren't hardly fighting back, it was like they just went there to mess with them a bit. they could ha've done more damage, unleashing several zombies into a fenced off courtyard...come on.

I think he was showing them that he will do what he wants, and it was just their way of scaring Rick and company.

Awful, awful episode. I guess the best thing I can say about it is that it's just continuing to make the same mistakes as always.

Then don't watch. It's that simple.

3) Is Daryl Merle's little brother? I can't tell, it isn't mentioned quite enough.

I believe we've known their brothers since season 1, and also Merle calls Daryl lil bro or little brother once if not more.

My big question (that I'm surprised no one else has brought up in this thread yet): Carol, Maggie and Beth are all outside now, so who's watching Judith??

Considering they went from showing us Maggie feeding Judith to the battle, she was most likely sleeping and considering where they stay in the prison is safe, I am sure Judith is fine. Baby's tend to sleep shortly after they eat. Especially if shes suppose to be just a week or two old.

And I just want to say that Rick's hair looks sexy pushed back.
Spoiler

He looked a little gross with his sweaty locks on his forehead. He needs to clean up a bit.

What if the driver of the van was Sasha and unrelated to the Gov's people?

Also, wouldn't an interesting plot twist be the gov somehow kidnapping Judy from the prison camp for retribution for Michonne slicing his daughter?

I'm thinking this was said to throw the fan base off, I wouldn't be surprised if in 2 or 3 episodes they made their appearance again. If they didn't show up for this entire season or just for a quick cameo in the finale I think it would have been a total waste to introduce them this season. That time spent on them could have been spent on better character development for the characters that are here.

Two things - (a) I wonder if the Governor told his guys not to actually shoot to kill, and (B) in real warfare, the number of bullets used to kill or wound one solider is very high. At least it used to be, but I think it still holds true. Accuracy is hard.

People need to let the Rick hallucination issue just play out. Rick has barely had time to deal with his wife passing, and every time he has some downtime, something comes up, and gets him back to survival mode.

But to recap the episode:

1.It started off insanely slow.

2. I don't like the time being spent on the situation back at Woodberry. To me, it's not interesting as I'm rather interested in what's going on at the prison. The death of Axel would've been even more powerful, if we wouldn't have saw the Governor up until that point.

3. Glenn is totally in the right in the way he's acting. He was almost beaten to death, and thought his girl was raped. Him leaving by himself to attack Woodbury was stupid, but he was right about the Governors retaliation . Now, I don't understand why Maggie is angry.

4. The deaths are getting kind of predictable. Having read the comics, it's like we all know the ones who are going to die eventually, it's just when. When Axel died, it had no emotional impact for me, it was more of an about time feeling. I'm gonna go out and say the next major characters who dies next are Hershel and the baby somehow.

5. Ricks squad can't shoot for shit.

6. That look Rick gave at the end was honestly my favorite part of the episode. I'm about ready for him to release all that frustration upon the Governor.

And on #4, Talking Dead will have another "Special Guest" character from the cast next week. Are they already spoiling it for us to speculate yet another major death? Special Guest was Axel, and ummmm, he died, soooooooooo I hope they aren't setting this up for the rest of the season this way. Like they keep joking about on that show, it seems like every character that sits on that couch is going to or has died.

Enjoyed the hell out of it. Agree about Rick's hair and Lori's presence (just pay the woman the full season and let her move on, writers). This is the 1st episode I've really liked a lot in a while. Love the show but haven't yelled at the TV yet this season and last night we were both yelling so that's saying something. And yes, Rick's group needs to get to be better shots but how much ammo could they possibly have left? Now they have living enemies. They can't just stab them in the head at close range like the walkers (unless they're Michonne). If Tyreese and his people are not still in a cell somewhere, I'm disappointed that the writers didn't show us their departure. Overall, I thought it was a great episode.

Episode 10 and we still have Andrea clueless in Woodbury, that is a thousand times worse then RIck's crazy, or Glenn's PMS.

The action was a nice change of pace. I have given up trying to worry about plot line, or any kind of consistency. So why everyone can't shoot for shit simultaneously, I am going to just ignore purposely.

Just glad that Merle and Daryl are back, I am sure there will be much whining at the prison, hopefully someone, maybe Rick will tell them all the STFU. Hell maybe Merle can keep his yap shut long enough to not get shanked in the shower.
