Last episode was an improvement. As Daryl is not part of the comic world of The Walking Dead, a new dynamic is introduced in the story line of Negan taking Carl on a tour of their compound. Which strategically is a monumentality stupid move on Negan's part. But being the narcissistic prick that he is, he'll shut that shit down before it even starts.
But at least Carl got to see his Dutch uncle Daryl and vice versa. There's that moment when the food was passed between them, it looked like Carl said something to Daryl or vice versa.
Maybe it'll be revealed what was quietly said or maybe not.
But for the fun of it; lets speculate what one or the other might have said.
Carl: She's/Maggie's alive.
Daryl: Get out!
Or
Carl: Get Out!
Daryl: Kill him.

I think its Carl telling Daryl he is there to Kill Negan and Daryl, being a little more worldly, knows its a stupid idea to Carl to try that by himself.
