Filming Season 3 In Senoia

25 July 2012 - 03:59 PM

I went down to Senoia yesterday because I got a tip on where they would be doing some filming. I went down there with a friend and we attempted to get on the road they were filming, but there were police blockades, so we somewhat gave up and went back over to downtown Senoia. We sat on main street for a while and watched a lot of the production crew walk around and grab dinner from a local cafe. I thought at one point I saw Greg Nicotera, but I'm not 100% sure.
Nonetheless, while sitting in Senoia, I received a text message from a friend who got past the police line and was able to get to the filming. She drove down and right up to the filming before the cops were able to see her. Andrew Lincoln and Norman Reedus were apparently between scenes and told her they liked her car (she has a mustang) and she asked if she could get a picture with them. The cop tried to escort her away but Andrew and Norman asked the cop to let her stay for a couple minutes and he did. Attached is the picture she took with them. She also has several more pictures with Norman and one with Danai (Michonne). I believe she also was able to watch them film for about 15 minutes, before she left. I'm attaching the picture of her. I know they are doing more filming this week and I'm hoping to try again to catch a glimpse of some actors. It's difficult to catch filming, because I work in the daytime, but I'm going to keep trying!

Dropping in from Atlanta, GA

13 March 2012 - 02:12 AM

Hello all,

Thought I would give an introduction of myself. I started watching the show because a friend of mine told me about it. Once I watched the opening scene and recognized the intersection and gas station, I was somewhat hooked. I thought it was cool that they filmed in Atlanta and I actually recognized some landmarks. I watched the next couple of episodes and was hooked! Now I can't stop watching. I then remembered when they said they were shutting down the road near the racetrack for a zombie film... ahhh this was for The Walking Dead... didn't realize it, til now. I love the show and have gotten several of my friends hooked.
I live on the southside of Atlanta between around Senoia and Fayetteville. I have lived in Atlanta all my life and in this area for the last 25 years. I've looked up a lot of the filming locations and see that most of Season 2 is filmed around Senoia, Hampton, and Sharpsburg. I wish I could see them film just a part of an episode, it would be awesome! Nonetheless, I'm in IT for a living and it seems like forever between episodes!! Thanks for the forum!
