The AMC/Dish conflict

Not sure how many of you will be affected by this but I am one who will.

The link above is the best info I have seen on the dispute. Dish stands to lose an estimated 10,000 subscribers which is less than 1%. AMC will lose more than $14mil per week.

Dish is known to play hardball and is unlikely to yield before the cutoff date of July 1 2012. There is an ongoing lawsuit that many believe Dish will lose so they will probably settle the matter before the trial starts in September, 2012. This would mean that Dish subscribers will miss several Breaking Bad episodes but AMC should be restored by the October premier of TWD.

AMC appears to be the bloodiest in this fight and they are pretty much going to be forced to settle. Their stock is already taking a big hit and the revenue interruption hasn't even started.

I agree with BC's point and I would like to add another request for polls.

When you click on a topic that is a poll, it does not open on the poll window. It opens on the first post. Often the topic nor the first post ID's the thread as a poll and I have posted in threads and not realized it was a poll until much later.

Could we ID polls as such in the topic list? For instance: Instead of, topic: Isn't Shane the manliest of men? it would be Poll: Isn't Shane the manliest of men?

I stumbled on to an apoc flick on Netflix.

"20 Years After"

It took place in a post nuke USA where people had been living in caves, cellars, etc to avoid the radiation and were just starting to emerge. The story centers around a pregnant girl, one of the first in anyone's memory, since the bombs. (Sounds familiar doesn't it?)

To be totally honest I thought it was pretty bad, (hokey), but the production values and the acting was good enough that some might like it. The one professional review I found was not that bad. The movie is from a Broadway play, so there is not much in the way of action and special effects. I guess you would say it is a psychological drama.

It streams on Netflix so give it a shot if you are a member and think it is worth the time.
