Personally, I don't give 2 shits about the summer olympics. I'll only pay attention to the winter Olympics because it's stuff Canada is actually good at and hockey is there.

I'd say I have a very similar facial structure to Negan, just the 17 year old verson of him.

Pretty simply overconfidence. Rick's been feeling that Alexandria is pretty invincible ever since the zombie attack on it that they successfully fended off. When they got to the hilltop, they saw pathetic people with no guns, where as Rick sees the Alexandria group as a strong group, who has advanced weaponry on their side. I think after that zombie attack, he actually straight up said something along the lines of "if we all just stick together and fight, we can overcome anything". This last issue will remind Rick that he is not invincible, nor is his group, and that will lead to Rick either breaking, or getting his head in place and remembering that no matter how safe you feel, you're never really safe.

Also, he has never faced a group of people who he felt his group could not beat since the governor. Since then, every group they have come across has been a small little bunch of bandits, or the hilltop/alexandria(before he got there). All of those groups he has confidently felt his is more powerful, so I feel he believed that the Saviours were also just a group attempting to threaten a weaker Hilltop, and over exaggerating their true power. Not to mention the little groups of saviours he has already encountered putting up pretty much no fight at all.
