RoamersAndLurkers.com Usage Guidelines: Seven Easy Rules

RoamersAndLurkers.com provides these Forums as a service to its members,  to provide a friendly environment, where members can help one another  and exchange ideas, tips, news, and information. These Forums are most  valuable when everyone obeys certain basic guidelines and rules for  behavior. We are listing these guidelines here so you know what is  expected of you and what you can expect from others. We appreciate your  help in keeping the RoamersAndLurkers.com forum a clean and friendly  community. The following are a few simple rules to keep in mind while  you're here.

Rule 1:
We are all here to learn, discuss, and review as fans of The Walking  Dead - The purpose of this forum is to enable the members of the  community to communicate, and share their experiences. If you are new to  the forums and have questions, don't hesitate to ask in the  RoamersAndLurkers Forum Help forum. If you are a veteran of the forum  and see new people joining the forums, please welcome them and help them  out if you can.

Rule 2:

Flaming people, products, political parties,  countries or organizations is never acceptable. Neither is trolling.  Instead, be friendly, helpful, and supportive and the forum will be much  more enjoyable for everyone. That isn't to say you can't talk smack or  that this place is supposed to be like Sunday school. You are expected  to show good judgment and diplomacy.

Rule 3:
Be Relevant - Please stay on topic - especially any forum outside The Dead room. These Forums are provided to enable  members to help each other in sharing their passion for the Walking Dead. Please  refrain from discussing personal matters, abusing any company or  product, or, in general, from posting in a manner unrelated to the  direct purposes expected in the Forums.

Rule 4:
Don't Break the Law - Do not make any unlawful, libelous, defamatory posts, or posts that infringe upon any intellectual property rights. Do  not conduct any activity that may be illegal, or harmful in any way, to  people, to software or hardware, such as hacking, flooding scripts  viruses or Trojan horses. This also includes our PM/Email system. We take  PM/Email/Post abuse very seriously, and it will result in the immediate  removal of your membership and ban of your IP address, without warning.

Rule 6:
Search Forum - Before posting a new question, please do read the forums  relevant to your question to make sure it hasn't already been thoroughly  covered. Please pay particular attention to any sticky threads (threads  at the top of a category). Any thread or post that is extremely similar  or a duplicate of another post will be either merged with the original  post, or deleted.

Rule 7:
NO SPOILERS - Do not post any content that will "spoil" the story line  of the TWD AMC TV Show or TWD Comic Book series without using the  spoiler tag. ALL spoiler threads belong in the Spoiler Forum.

What is a spoiler?

Anything that has not aired within the episode is a spoiler - This includes interviews (on the upcoming season, episodes, etc.), promos, trailers, and episode titles, descriptions and previews - including the previews that sometimes run at the end of the episode.

Do not post spoilers in the title of the thread - ESPECIALLY death spoilers.

If the episode has aired, is it still considered a spoiler?

No; if the episode has aired in the US, it is no longer considered a spoiler. However, we still need to be considerate and subtle when titling a thread, so as not to spoil those members from countries where the episode hasn't aired yet.

Is comic discussion allowed outside the comic forum?

Yes; however, comic talk outside the comic forum should be in spoiler tags, unless the title of the thread specifically states it contains comic discussion. This includes speculation based on your knowledge of the comic.

I also think it is preferable for people to hint at what kind of discussion is under the spoiler tag.

ex.

comic talk:

Spoiler

...

major comic spoiler:

Spoiler

...

preview spoiler:

Spoiler

...

filming rumor/spoiler:

Spoiler

...

How do I hide my spoiler text?

1. Click the button marked with an S

2. Enter text to be hidden in box.

3. Click OK

What if I am on my phone and can't see the nifty little spoiler button?

You can still hide your text manually by using the following code:

Are leaks from production and episode summaries allowed?

No; anything questionable will be unapproved until it can be reviewed by an Admin, and outright production leaks will be automatically deleted. Do not hide 'leaks' behind 'predictions'. If we have any reason to believe this is the case with ANY thread/post, it will be deleted and you could be warned or banned.

Should I be extra cautious with filming rumors/spoilers?

Yes.

Filming spoilers/rumors and other spoilers that have not been officially released by AMC should remain in their designated threads, as much as possible, or threads that clearly state that it contains non-AMC released material. I don't want to see these spoilers popping up all around the Spoiler SubForum. I'm a big believer in people being able to choose how much they are spoiled, and sometimes the filming spoilers, and other rumors that have not been confirmed by AMC, tend to get a little heavy.

What should I do if I see an untagged spoiler?

If you forget to add spoiler tags, or see a post with untagged spoiler information, PLEASE hit the report button at the bottom of the post and let us know what needs to be tagged, so we can take care of it as soon as possible.

I do not want to see people giving "answers" in speculation threads that are in the regular forums (even in tags). Many of these threads were started well before the trailers and promos were released - let people who avoid spoilers continue to speculate, or let the thread die.

Failure to follow these rules can result in warnings or a temporary/permanent ban from Roamers & Lurkers.
