Play as lori from the walking dead. but without carl
25 April 2012 - 05:59 AM
I just got a game on the xbox live arcade called Amy. You play as a woman who loses a child in the apocalypse. There are these zombie type things running around, and it seems pretty good so far. Anyone else play it?
this video is of some guy playing at the very beginning. I assume it gets more intense later. -
AWAKE
22 April 2012 - 04:59 AM
Sorry I split it in two posts on accident. This is the same universe as the walking dead so we may see some characters. Enjoy ant tell me what you think so far!
Chapter 1: Awake
He opened his eyes. In his slightly drunken stupor he forgot where he was for a moment. Then he recalled that his friend Jerry had walked his drunk ass home last night, as well as got him in through a the front window because he had lost his keys sometime during the night. His head pounded like drums, he felt like the Grinch. All the noise noise noise! He thought. Then he remembered what the noise was coming from. Before Jerry left he had also left on the tv in his room for him, and had even turned it to the Scifi channel, his all time favorite. He could hear sirens and gunshots ring out across the room. There was probably some crummy horror movie on. Brett knew most of the movies on that channel were worthless, but he loved horror movies so much that he could look past that. He had even made a horror short film in high school called Isolation. It was the classic story of a murder mystery. He played the role of Detective Barney Franks, while his best friend, Nathan, Played the Murderer who in a twist of fate was also a detective as well. Brett could remember his teacher, Mr. Williams, praising them for their work. “You kids are trouble makers, but you sure know how to make a damn fine short” he had said. Brett and all his friends hated Williams, heck, the whole class of 2005 probably did. But at least he got an easy A in that class. Williams was a prick, but he made up for it with his very easy grading.
While still keeping his head under the blankets to keep his eyes away from the murderous sun, Brett felt his right hand along his bedside shelf until he felt the familiar touch of the remote. Jerry had even left his controller in its normal spot, and Brett silently thanked him for it. Jerry had brought him home when he had drank too much before. One time Brett was crossfaded off what drugs he didn’t even know, but he actually thought that Jerry was a woman and that he was about to get lucky. He should probably thank him twice for having to deal with him on a regular basis.
He pressed the off button on the tv, expecting the room to fall silent. It didn’t. Instead there was now the sound of an annoying tone he had only heard before late at night during a mystery movie marathon. He knew the sound, It was of the emergency broadcast tone. He let out a big sigh before he turned it off again. But as soon as he did, he could finally come to the realization that the sound of sirens and gunshots were coming from outside. He ripped off the blankets and stood up, probably way too fast for his body to handle. The sun coming in through the window pierced his eyes like a needle, but after his eyes got used to it, he could feel that he sun actually felt good on his bare skin. Jerry had even done him a favor by taking off all his clothes down to his boxer briefs. He almost thought it was creepy, but he knew Jerry was a good guy. He would have done the same for him. Heck, they had known each other since the third grade.
Brett quickly made his way over to the window and opened it. He hardly had time to notice the blaring heat of the hot Atlanta sun, as he was met with much louder noises now of gunshots and sirens. Puzzled, he looked out the window. The apartment he lived in was on the 5th floor of a 20 story apartment building. He could see nothing down the back alley of the complex. But he was sure of the sounds he was hearing. Maybe there was a riot, he thought. He decided the best thing for him to do at the moment was to stay inside, probably get some breakfast while he was at it.
Still in his briefs, he made his way to the kitchen, which was combined with the living room, and which was connected with the front door. His apartment was small, it was only a one bedroom apartment, after all, but it worked for him. He couldn’t bare the thought of having roommates. He had learned his lesson once before in college, and he wasn’t going to go through that again. He had learned after waking up with penises and FUCK written all over his forehead every weekend. He had once had a girlfriend live with him, but even that was a drag. Finding bloody tampons and having the bathroom littered with hair products was not his idea of a fun time. Not to mention having to endure the torture of all her favorite tv shows, while something better like sports center was on. The only good thing to come out of that was that his place smelled like a girl, meaning really good perfume.
As he went to microwave his oatmeal, he glanced at the microwave clock and stopped dead in his tracks. It was 10:30, he was late for his meeting with his brother, Josh! He quickly got dressed in some jeans and a Red Hot Chilipeppers shirt. But before turning the handle to the front door of his apartment, he stopped. Maybe it was dangerous to go outside, what with the riot going on or whatever it was. So he ran over to the house phone and picked up the receiver. He was quickly met with ,“ I’m sorry, all operators are busy, please hang up and try again”. So he did. Nothing new. “God dammit”, He muttered to himself. He wasn’t mad because the phone was tied up, but because he knew he’d get an angry call from his parents if they found out his brother went all the way into the city and got stood up. And he didn’t need that. And even worse so if he got hurt. Hell, he’d be mad at himself if that were to happen.
He frantically searched for his cellphone. He must have been at it for 10 minutes before noticing the note. It read, “You owe me- Jerry”. That was a given, he knew he did. More importantly under the note was his cellphone. He quickly found “bro bro” under his contacts and hit call.
But as he put the phone up to his ear, A very loud banging erupted throughout the apartment. It was the front door. This startled Brett to the point of dropping his phone to the floor. “Jesus”, He yelped. Not knowing who it was, he picked up his phone and went to the door to listen, the banging still ringing out rather loudly. He cursed the land lord for not having a peephole installed like he had promised.
Instead of calling out, he listened quietly. For all he knew this could be someone from the riots outside, they could be dangerous. Although he didn’t know how the person would’ve made it to the 5th floor. He backed up, deciding to wait this person out while sitting on the couch. That’s when he heard it, The familiar sound of his brother, although paired with the unfamiliar sound of him screaming out for help. Brett sprinted to the door and yanked it open, knowing now that it was a friend and not foe, as he had previously thought.
Without saying another word, his brother simultaneously came in, locked the door, chained up the deadbolt, and slid down the door to sit and prop himself up against it. “Woah woah woah, hold up there. What’s going on” he asked. He could see by the look in his brother’s eye that this was serious business. They darted around the room crazily before becoming fixated on the couch. That’s when he walked over and started pushing it towards the door. “Dude what are you doing?” He let a chuckle escape him.
“Do you want to die!?” he yelled. “Of course not, bu-“ -
I made a zombie short film!
21 April 2012 - 01:09 AM
This is sort of embarrasing because we were such bad actors way back when. It sucks because for school i had to cut out guns and violence. Also the end got dark so what happens is his friend turns.
I didn't upload it, but im the last survivor at the end.]
