Skittles - first I eat the purple ones, two at a time (it has to be two), then the red ones, then the green ones, then the yellow ones, then the orange ones (cause orange is my favorite color). If I have remaining ones I can pair purple and red, but never purple and, say, yellow. Yellow I can pair with orange or green, but orange can't go with green. If I have an odd number left (like 1) I throw it away. I can't eat one or 3, or 4, etc. It has to be 2 at a time.
Same with M&Ms except it goes: brown, red, blue, green, yellow, and orange.
I do that with M&Ms, but I like to save the brown ones for last because I like the appearance of the colored ones against the plain looking brown ones. -
