What Today Really Means
28 May 2012 - 10:29 AM
A lot of you have seen me use pictures to get a laugh. This is not one of those times. Today is a solemn time. This is Memorial Day. Today is not about food, drink. or celebration. What we do today is remember and say Thank You. We thank every father and mother, son and daughter, brother and sister who will never come home again. They will never see or be seen by their loved ones again because they gave their lives to keep us all safe and free. We owe them a debt that can never be repaid. Use this picture to remind yourself what this day is for. May God keep them and watch over them.

The End is Near

Retrieved from MSNBC
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- A middle school basketball rivalry took a violent turn on Friday, after one losing coach bit off part of another coach’s ear, police said.
Police said the assistant coach of the losing team of Springfield, assaulted the coach of the winning team after a championship tournament game and bit off part of his ear.
Police received a report of a disturbance at the Holy Name School in Springfield during a sixth-grade boys' basketball game.
This is how the world ends, not with a bang, but a chomping sound!

Randall, Too hot for the kill?
28 February 2012 - 07:38 AM
I know we already have a Randall thread going, but I have a few questions, so bear with me. We first see Randall begging for his life. I'm just a normal kid who fell in with a bad crowd and so on. Fast forward to Randall getting loose in the nick of time and killing, re-killing? snaggle tooth walker girl.
Is it just me, or did he seem to enjoy this a mite too much? I seem to remember a look of glee on his face and the words "Come on b###h, show me what you got." I'm not a good judge. I'm apathetic to violence. Mayhem or no mayhem, I don't care either way. Whatever gets the job done.
I do know If I've got a slow hostile whose only weapon is a bite down in an area hot with hostiles I'm going for the evac not the kill. Add to this the fact my only weapon is a knife. Finishing off Snaggletooth puts my grubby paws a bit too close to her chompers for my tastes.
So, do we just put this down to youthful enthusiasm, or are we being shown some thing? Are we being shown Randall is a fighter and and an asset to our group? Are we being shown Randall has a mean streak and his hat isn't quite as white as he wants everyone to believe? Are we just being shown a dramatic fight scene. Your opinions please.

Nice outfit, your accessories stink, literally!

Thought of this while reviewing the Daryl-Carol meltdown scene. Remember the beginning of the scene when she almost bumped into his ear necklace
.
We have a lot of theories drifting around about the origin of the walker plague. Virus seems the most popular choice. Bacteria? We even have a fungus fan. Jenner said it was none of these things. Toxins, radiation, Wrath of God? I don't think the Wrath of God is contagious, but toxins and radiated materials are dangerous to touch.
What I'm getting at is why would Daryl wear a necklace of walker ears. OK, he was having the mother of all bad days, but he still has the necklace. So why would an intelligent, if admittedly unschooled, man like Daryl do such a foolish thing? For that matter why would the writers expect us to believe he would? -
The Cop Walker *Ep 10 Spoilers*
21 February 2012 - 03:57 AM
OK, if this has already been asked, just slap me and I'll shut up. If not, here goes. For those of us who sat through Comic Book Men to see the snippets of Walking Dead included, remember the walker in the police uniform Rick killed with a knife after luring him to the chain link fence with his own blood.
Did any one think the walker resembled Leon Basset, the fellow police officer turned walker Rick shot through a chain link fence before he left home for Atlanta?
This was in Days Gone Bye. Rick, Morgan, and Duane were in the fenced lot behind the police station. Leon showed up and started chewing on the fence. Rick said something about Leon not being much of a police officer but couldn't leave him as a walker. Rick then shot Leon in the forehead with his Python.
I could be mistaken, but the two walkers looked similar to me. Same uniform, slender build, fu manchu mustache, same level of decomposition. Am I totally off track or what?
