Zombie and Anime: There is not a better combination with the stories of a zombie apocalypse illustrated with anime goodness. High School of the Dead is my favorite. The story is the same: A normal day of high school classes in Japan and while a lonely boy skips class to pine over his best friend and crush getting together watches a strange man eat the arm of a gym teacher. Soon that gym teacher kills another and the infection spreads into the classroom. Now a group of students must work together to survive. A woodshop geek, an outcast, an overachiever, a katana swinging psycho, the girl crush, and a big breasted school nurse need to find a way out of the school and to find their families without getting bit.
The story is dramatic, funny, and full of sexual tension in the ZA. The animation is some of the best and the voice talent is great. Show your love for HOTD and what you like about it. If you haven't seen it and like The Walking Dead, you must watch HOTD. Enjoy.

You should. I have the first season on dvd and it's great, if you don't mind a little anime upskirting here and there. The story is solid and I really wish they would have a second season. But I think the creator was having health issues in the family and it's not definite.

Hellsing and Elfien Lied for horror anime lovers. Do yourself a favor and watch it, specifically Elfien Lied.

Highschool of the Dead however has way too much fanfare. It's annoying.

I haven't gotten too far into it, maybe 3 or 4 episodes last summer? I did enjoy it. I was a big anime fan in my early High School years, so I'm not opposed to watching anime like others with stigma. Its odd how anime's not having cashed in on the zombie franchise that has covered the world, still trying to stick with your demons huh Japan? Haven't seen that in 1700 other animes huh? So, it was nice to see zombies in anime form, but the overall story was ehh.... it didn't keep my interest that much. It was very been there, done that excluding the couple unique weapons that were fun to watch the first few times, but got stale as well after awhile.

I liked it, and maybe I'll pick it up again when I have more time. However, I won't lie either... its not at the top of my list of things I need to watch.

I agree with you. The upskirting and ecchi was really getting in the way of a great story. At first I was fine with it until every chance they got they threw it in your face. Sad really, the story would have still been great without it.

I'm on episode 8 of elfen lied. Pretty good Imo. A lot good action. The first 10 minutes of episode 1 was out of this world pure violence
