As I said TG is not dumb hes a smart phychopath who has had time to plan an assault on the prison (whats better than "germ warfare" used for centuries people throwing decomposing bodies of plague victems at their enemies). He has also had time to "gather more people", as weve seen he is a good liar and can spin shit to make others belive.

If The Governor really was deliberately using germ warfare (Which I doubt in this case because if he was in contact with something this deadly and contagious he'd already be sick) wouldn't the most likely suspect have been Patrick? He was the first one sick, was in a position to infect everyone (Cooking), and made sure to come in physical contact with at least Daryl. and is old enough to follow orders while still young enough to gain sympathy and trust very easily. The rats at the fence could be someone else or perhaps completely unrelated to the Governor entirely, just a red herring to draw attention the wrong direction.

Not saying I believe this, just that it'd be more interesting than pinning it on characters which have been set up from episode 1 as a little bit off.

bob super-volunteered for the supermarket mission in ep no.1 even thou he was not asked

Yes that was the supermarket which he confessed to Daryl was for selfish reasons to get some wine. Their was no volunteering for the Vet School.

I dont think TG even has a mole. What would really be the point? To get a 'look' into the prison? To hurt thr group? Let TG in? I just dont really see the point to it. I dunno, i just dont see it...Somethin is definitley goin on with Bob, some skeletons in that closet for sure but mole for TG? Nah..

I hope things are more complex than him just being a "mole" in the prison spending months and months with the survivors, getting to know them and all, and waiting all this time to... what, kill them all? Would he have the guts for that anyway?
We can easily imagine that he has been in contact with the Gov before thought.
There is obviously something off with Bob but I would like it to be unrelated to the Gov (while weakening the prison)
Something like:
Spoiler

Carol could cross roads with the Gov too. This is frightening me.

Bob could also be feeding the rats to the Walkers knowing it will bring more on and add pressure to a weakened fence.

In 30 Days Without an Accident, we have these two scenes:
Sasha mentions that Bob Stookey was only at the prison for a week. We also learn that Bob was found alone by Daryl - would seem odd for Daryl to find Bob close to the prison, so must have been a bit away.

Carol talks to Daryl about the herd forming at the fence. She says something like, "It's getting as bad as last month. They [walkers] don't spread out anymore".

I can't see Bob sneaking up on the prison to instigate the herd a month prior, then hoofing it some distance in order to be found by Daryl. Too convoluted a plan. Why not just get found by Daryl a month ago and rile up the herd from inside the prison?

Now, it could very well be the Gov, or one of his henchmen. When the Gov had Axel shot and knocked down the prison gate, he had a man in the dog-run tower. That's the same tower that Carl and Rick dive into in "Internment".

Since there's a door to get into it from the prison and a door to the dog-run, then how did the sniper get into that tower? Well, if the Gov worked that out back in season 3, I'm sure he has a way in season 4 to get someone inside the fence.

Don't forget, there's the hole Rick & co. made when first discovering the prison ("Seed"), and think that's the same hole Rick goes out of to rescue Carol when she's draining the mud from the hose. If so, it's only closed by carabiners or D-hooks or wire - walkers can't negotiate the closures, but humans can.

I hope Bob doesn't turn out to be a mole. As others have said it's too obvious, but more than that it wouldn't make sense with what we have learned about the character so far. If he turns out to be working for the governor it will be a twist just to have a twist and that's terrible.

Also, having a mole inside the prison doesn't really do anything for TG. They would have no way of contacting him to give him information while still inside. And any information that could be given wouldn't be very useful anyway.

I'm hoping that when we saw TG standing outside of the prison he had just made his way back there and is just preparing his plans and not because he is checking in on plans already in place. I'd rather see the whole thing unfold in front of us than an "oh by the way, most of this happened while you weren't watching" kind of scenario.

Don't you think he would spend SOME time evaluating what's going on in the prison? How many? Whose armed? Where's Michonne?

Interesting point. But wasn't Rick the first one actually exposed? He sees the bloody-eyed walker first, he was in intimate contact with Violet - who died from the flu, he was emptying the snares (I still don't understand about the rotting deer), and the sick boar in the woods.

Rick didn't touch the boar directly, but Clara had her hands on it and then Rick handed her the sandwich, pushed her away in defense, held her hands to his face (!), and then he took the sandwich again.

If we're thinking the prison ground isn't contaminated, then didn't Violet get sick from Rick?

I'm thinking Rick may have been a carrier. Rick's touching Carl, then Carl is next to Patrick at the fence - when they're talking with the other kids. It's after this that Patrick gets ill.

Possible, but god, that would be terribly stupid for him to be doing.

I'm seriously at a loss as to why this whole "TG has a mole inside the prison!!!11!!" meme has become so virulent. He has no authority/power at this point. He has nothing to offer anyone, he's a guy with a truck out on the open road/camping somewhere, either alone or with two other guys who are in a similarly hopeless situation. You're telling me that someone inside the prison is going to sabotage a relatively vibrant, stable and secure community populated with people they're grown closer to, and be complicit in their mass-murder, just because? Makes absolutely no sense, sorry guys. :smiley-confused002:

I don't disagree with your point about the mole, but it has been half a year or more since the assault on the prison, and he very well could have recruited more people in that time.

I'm with you and the others that don't think there is a mole. I think the only reason that people think that Bob is a mole is because he is named after a comic character and a little screwed up.

Recruited how? Using what leverage/prestige? You guys give his character waaaaaaaaaay too much credit. He's a mentally unstable man who may or may not still have a working/gassed-up truck, and may or may not have a sidekick or two kicking around, assuming they're still alive/haven't deserted him. What does he have that speaks to anyone as to him being someone to follow? "Hey guys, I'm THE GOVERNOR. I govern this truck. You look like the kind of folks who want to take orders from me despite surviving perfectly well on your own and risk your lives assaulting a heavily guarded community based around a prison so we can kill a bunch of people that you've never met but I have a major hard-on for!" :)

Maybe, but it is working as far as the fence goes. Our heroes in the prison only need to go out their in broad daylight and wave some tablecloths and run away to draw the walkers off. Of course they would use gunshots instead. Or stand on the other side of the fence stabbing them ensuring that their job is never done. I love Star Trek. Forty years from now people will laugh at and love the Walking Dead.

I don't think we were shown the rats for no reason. And I don't think that someone would be feeding the walkers rats and purposely piling them up against the fences unless they were deliberately undermining the safety of the prison. So I'm still holding onto the "mole" storyline possibility even if it doesnt' seem to make much sense at this point. It still makes more sense to me than the other theory of Lizzie capturing rats and sneaking outside to feed the walkers at one particular spot (but neglecting to feed her own favorite walker, Nick).

Next week's episode preview talk...

Spoiler

I've been thinking Bob was the mole this whole time, but I'll admit that UltraAmbiguousID brought up an interesting point about the time discrepancy. If the fences were being messed with before Bob arrived, that does make me question my theory that the mole is Bob. I don't see who else it could possibly be, if there were truly a mole. The other theory that I would have is that someone is indeed weakening the fences for whatever reason, but it's not because of the Governor or that this person is a mole.

Ah, I hardly ever watch TD, so I missed that. Still, could either mean something other than a mole, or it could just be BS. Half the stuff they say on that show is intended to mislead, thus why I hardly ever bother watching it. Plus the host is extremely irritating, albeit in a self-aware way.

I dont either. When would he have sent a mole in? After the last battle he snapped and has been wondering the countryside in a suicidal stupor. He wasnt out for revenge or organizing anything.
Bob didnt show up until after the Governors defeat. It just doesn't fit. I dont know who it is in the prison feeding the walkers (Maybe the crazy little girl) but it doesn't have anything to do with the Governor.
