Jesus is in desperate need of a backstory. I think if he was given one it would be easier for us to identify with him and sympathize. Like, where is he from? Did he have a family? What are his motivations? Was he born in a manger? Stuff like that.

I agree that Jesus is in desperate need of a backstory. At this point the character is a little too perfect to be able to relate to. Hopefully, there is a lot more to him than hottie-ninja. I'm also hoping that we don't have to wait until after the AOW arc to get it.

I have said it before, and i'll say it again.

It's the novel Kirkman wrote for Jesus. Similar to the Governor novels, but much longer.

It tells us ALL about The Jesus.

People saying Jesus doesnt have any backstory?

Bah. His backstory is longer than the entire TWD comic so far.

.....

Haha I could actually see his backstory being similar to the actual Jesus. Perhaps he was highly regarded and then another group of people tried killing him. This may have caused the group Jesus was with to think he died somehow, only to have him return from the "dead". Hm.

I'm going to go ahead and say that Dale is underrated. He seemed like an ass sometimes, but in my opinion he acted the way many people would do under those circumstances. He had some great moments, like noticing Shane' s evil side before anyone else did, saving Donna, his line to Rick about Shane ('That boy got problems' LMFAO), Agreeing to adopt the twins after Allen died, going out for gas in a very dangerous situation to help Alice when Lori was giving birth, coping on one foot, occasionally looking like Hershel and of course the whole arc leading up to his death with the hunters- How many people can wake up to find themselves part eaten and still find a way to laugh about it? 'Tainted Meat!' One of the series most famous lines. Also his reaction to both Ben and Billy's deaths were heartbreaking ('Who killed my boy?'). Have I convinced anyone yet? Probably not.

Also underrated is Rosita IMO, she seems like a great person and never has done anything to make people dislike her as far as I can remember- something barely any characters can claim. I'm still waiting on a Rosita-Eugene lovechild with beauty and brains.

I agree with all this - Love Dale.

I think she gets a lot of flack cause her best asset for survival in the ZA is her attractiveness... even though that's not a great place to be. She's also admitted to exchanging sexual favors for protection.... that's pretty hardcore, for both giver and takers. That behavior is another reason others might not like Rosita.

I agree though, she's definitely got some interesting potential hiding underneath the surface - hopefully she'll get more involved with the current story arc and Eugene.

A scene with Dale that I always loved is a very small one. I believe it was issue 5. Andrea is mourning Amy and Dale tries to comfort her and then he kind of just slumps, realizing that he's too powerless to comfort his girlfriend. Sounds stupid when I'm describing it but it's more powerful on paper

Imagine a group of a hundred motorcycles driving down a freeway. Eventually, they hit a junction. One road goes northwest and the other goes northeast. So one guy, we'll call him S, says, "Let's go northwest!" A mile past the intersection, a semi careens into the group and kills ninety of them. Ten are wounded, but they survive and keep going. Eventually, they hit 10,000 miles. S suddenly has his consciousness thrown into his past body right before the junction. Now, he says, "Let's go northeast!" All 100 bikers survive. Happily ever after, right? But what about the ten, no nine, who went northwest and survived? What happens to the reality they were living? Does it just disappear now that S has changed the past? It's not like only bad things happened on that 10,000 mile journey. Maybe one of them fell in love with a gas station attendant and got her pregnant or maybe one adopted a homeless kid that joined the adventure. That 10,000 mile journey would be full of stories. Romances, farewells, friendships...the loss of those ninety lives is horrible and unfortunate, but what would rewriting their history mean? The nine who survived lived full lives and did the best they could with the hand they were dealt. How could it be right to just erase all that? Isn't that worth something? Is there a point to a world where everything is happy? Are people who struggle for a better life just idiots? Being human is about fighting even when it seems hopeless and finding happiness in a world that hates it. Are you saying that's worthless?

I really liked Dale too; he's probably my favourite character that isn't still alive.

Dale was my favorite through roughly the first half of the series. He was very level headed and always employed wisdom and strategy in his interactions with others in the group. He was also never above throwing himself into the fray like saving Donna in the woods and venturing out to the prison parking lot in Lori's pregnancy dilemma.

I thought Dale was one of the best written characters of the whole thing, but apparently some people think he's an asshole, which I can't comprehend. Whatever.
Anyway, I think one massively overrated character is Glen. He's a good character and I like him, but he was in the background for a long time after the group found the ASZ.
