Yes, but his most recent interviews overlap that. Recently he's said he KNOWS where Ricks story is going and how long it will last. You're talking about "it may" - I'm giving a recent example of where he PROMISED that he'll die before the end. And he's said this more then once too which basically means he has made his mind up about Rick.

Promising winter is ridiculously insignificant and irrelevant compared to promising that Rick will die before the end. Something like changing not to show winter can easily be changed - but saying that the rest of Rick's story is planned out, that he knows where he's going and promising he will die before the end - it's two completely different things. Besides, we could still get winter.
