Imagine a group of a hundred motorcycles driving down a freeway. Eventually, they hit a junction. One road goes northwest and the other goes northeast. So one guy, we'll call him S, says, "Let's go northwest!" A mile past the intersection, a semi careens into the group and kills ninety of them. Ten are wounded, but they survive and keep going. Eventually, they hit 10,000 miles. S suddenly has his consciousness thrown into his past body right before the junction. Now, he says, "Let's go northeast!" All 100 bikers survive. Happily ever after, right? But what about the ten, no nine, who went northwest and survived? What happens to the reality they were living? Does it just disappear now that S has changed the past? It's not like only bad things happened on that 10,000 mile journey. Maybe one of them fell in love with a gas station attendant and got her pregnant or maybe one adopted a homeless kid that joined the adventure. That 10,000 mile journey would be full of stories. Romances, farewells, friendships...the loss of those ninety lives is horrible and unfortunate, but what would rewriting their history mean? The nine who survived lived full lives and did the best they could with the hand they were dealt. How could it be right to just erase all that? Isn't that worth something? Is there a point to a world where everything is happy? Are people who struggle for a better life just idiots? Being human is about fighting even when it seems hopeless and finding happiness in a world that hates it. Are you saying that's worthless?

Yeah. That's where I made this list from. I just thought it'd be convenient if it was all in one place and we could update as new issues come out. That's why I got confused at Hannah. The wiki listed her name but I swear it was never mentioned. Maybe Kirkman mentioned it at a panel or something?nice work but isn't all the deaths listed on the wiki already ?

Have you noticed that the death rate is reduced a little?

Yeah. I didn't notice until I bought Compendium 1 and 2 and there's a significantly less amount of deaths in the latter 48 issuesHannah. It's safe to name her Hannah - this is clear this is the same character in comic and in tv show.

It looks like there are more named deaths grouped together before and after the long stretches without named deaths. This seems like a logical approach - can't kill everyone all the time or people stop caring about the characters. Can't go long stretches W/OUT deaths of named characters or the suspense/horror aspects are dulled. I think we all know that 2-3 issues down the road we are in for a LARGE body count - similar to issues 47-48 Woodbury vs. Prison conflict.

In the first 48 issues, the longest streak without a death was 3 issues...Hannah-Amy. That is, if you even count HannahSo according to this list - the longest streak of issues without a Named character death was approximately 10 issues. That span took place from 66 (Rick's group killing the Hunters) to 77 (first deaths within ASZ - Regina, Pete, and Scott) and again from 100 (Glenn) - 111 (Spencer).

I'm going to count the zombie deaths and who killed them but is there any other information I should keep track of throughout? I was considering doing the amount each character got punched in the face or amount each character has cried, etc.
If you're gonna count Zombie Kills.... you might as well count Human Kills... Most proficient Zombie killers have taken out numerous people as well...In the comics and offscreen through dialogue (Tyrese and Abraham both have stories involving killing humans after Outbreak; Governor obviously killed every head in his fish tank TV collection right?
