My Daughter is either playing Black ops 2 or Minecraft these days, usually when I want to watch Football on the TV. She's on at me about the new one (ghosts) because someone said you have the option to play as a female, is that right?.
Indeed, for the online multiplayer they have now introduced female soldiers. For the past 4 call of dutys I have pre ordered it. I dont think I will be buying call of duty ghosts... Im getting a bit bored of the franchise now.

Imagine a group of a hundred motorcycles driving down a freeway. Eventually, they hit a junction. One road goes northwest and the other goes northeast. So one guy, we'll call him S, says, "Let's go northwest!" A mile past the intersection, a semi careens into the group and kills ninety of them. Ten are wounded, but they survive and keep going. Eventually, they hit 10,000 miles. S suddenly has his consciousness thrown into his past body right before the junction. Now, he says, "Let's go northeast!" All 100 bikers survive. Happily ever after, right? But what about the ten, no nine, who went northwest and survived? What happens to the reality they were living? Does it just disappear now that S has changed the past? It's not like only bad things happened on that 10,000 mile journey. Maybe one of them fell in love with a gas station attendant and got her pregnant or maybe one adopted a homeless kid that joined the adventure. That 10,000 mile journey would be full of stories. Romances, farewells, friendships...the loss of those ninety lives is horrible and unfortunate, but what would rewriting their history mean? The nine who survived lived full lives and did the best they could with the hand they were dealt. How could it be right to just erase all that? Isn't that worth something? Is there a point to a world where everything is happy? Are people who struggle for a better life just idiots? Being human is about fighting even when it seems hopeless and finding happiness in a world that hates it. Are you saying that's worthless?

I wish Call of Duty didn't oversaturate itself so much with these annualized releases. At its heart it is a very solid shooter, despite the growing resentment against it, but they need to give the franchise more breathing room to preserve its novelty and develop more fresh ideas. Right now people are just growing more bored and frustrated with it.

I agree with you. Look at GTA, they have a span of time between releases to innovate and make it better. If COD did that, there would probably be more to it than just changing the story or characters around. That video was funny. I can't tell if that's intentional or if they're severely running out of ideas for set-pieces.

I never really gave my opinion on the series in my last post, so here we go. I absolutely loved the original 2 Call of Duty games on the PC. Both of them are incredible, and still hold up well today. Call of Duty 3 was really weird, but interesting. I didn't like it as much as the others, though. I was kinda sad to see Call of Duty 4 being set in the Modern Day, as I really liked the dark, gritty World War 2 setting in the previous games. It was good though, and I was really glad to see them change up the series.
I also liked World at War, especially the campaign and the zombie mode... The campaign really was great. I have mixed feelings about Modern Warfare 2, the campaign was decent but really short and it only had like two stand-out missions. I also didn't like Spec Ops as much as zombies, even though it was cool. I can't say I ever cared for Black Ops, either. Didn't like the zombie maps, either. Modern Warfare 3 just felt like more of the same- Again. I really didn't like the multiplayer, but survival was awesome as F*** and the campaign had its moments. Black Ops 2 was the first Call of Duty game I was hyped for in ages, and it actually turned out really good. The zombie mode was at it's absolute best, the campaign was awesome and the multiplayer was pretty good, too. I especially liked the multiplayer maps and the fact that it had bots, which means I could set up split-screen games against computer enemies without having to go online. Haven't played Ghosts yet, doesn't really interest me yet. I might get it at a later date.
I just want to say right now, though, that I wish the series would go back to World War 2 for at least one game... I miss that setting.

"Yeah, there's no "U" either. So I guess if I'm not on the team, and you're not on the team, nobody's on the God damn team. The team sucks!"

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare revealed: http://ie.ign.com/ar...-details-leaked
Although it's kind of inevitable that this one will be really similar to the last one, the trailer is very interesting. Looks like Halo meets CoD. And "Advanced Warfare"? That title sounds... Familiar
