My understanding was that Merle killed 8 based on what was said at the beggining of the finale and then it was stated that 27 people died in the finale so 25 by the Governor including Milton, 1 by Carl and Andrea killed by Milton/herself.

If that is correct then the number should be 5 less correct? Leaving us with 28 plus Tyreese and Sasha.

I forgot Milton, but keep in mind that neither Andrea or Allen have been counted originally into WB's population. So... yeah, something around 30.

I was going to start a new thread but this fits here, I think. How on Earth are these folks going to adjust to going from Mayberry to the prison? We saw Andrea's reaction to the differing living conditions and she'd been living/dying in a deer locker just a few months before her arrival at WB. I can not imagine how they will deal with their new reality.

They'll be seeing real live action, no doubt. No need to stage anything as war will be reality from here on out, I think. Hopefully, they now know that zombies are dangerous.

I think we can do the math
74 in Walk with Me (says Rowan to Andrea)
-3 killed in Hounded (Tim, Crowley, Gargulio)
-7 in Made to Suffer (Hailey, Warren... says the Governor)
-1 in Home (the guy in the watchtower)
-7 in This Sorrowful Life (by Merle)
-22 in Welcome to the Tombs, killed by the Governor
-1 in..., killed by Carl
... it makes: 74-41 = 33 Survivors of Woodbury, plus Tyreese and Sasha

You can't count seven in Made to Suffer because the Governor is lying. He's counting the three Michonne took out in that number. I went through the wiki counting up all the deaths. I posted it on another thread but it came down to close to what you have.

Rewatching the season I've consistently seen Long Hair guy and the guy he died with (the first two Merle gunned down that were eaten by walkers) plus a good half of the massacre victims. I haven't paid attention to kids, though.

Oh, and in Welcome to the Tombs there is a woman with a blanket covering her in front as if she's nursing a child. Plus the toddler we see going into the Prison (carried by Mom) is in that scene, too. Didn't see an infant in the Prison scene at the end.

Did an extensive scan of the last episode looking for Noah, he wasn't to be found. There is a guy wearing a baseball cap backwards like Noah, but this is a guy mid to late twenties. We can eliminate Noah from the massacre or Karen would have said something.

Not everyone needed to come back to the prison on the bus. Some may have stayed behind to pack up supplies. I like to think that the most likely scenario happens even if we don't see it rather than just say 'lazy writing' or 'wft'? I'd rather not insult my own intelligence :)

I've been thinking about that, too. There's a pretty steep learning curve coming their way. I can't see Rick & Co taking care of them like the Governor. Being able to kill a walker has to be part of everyone's reality because you never know when an accident could kill the person beside you or when a lurker might ambush you.

I wouldn't doubt that some will leave and that Rick will advise against it but not stop them. Plus there will be people not wanting to pull their weight, people playing politics and all kinds of stupid human tricks. For just as much knowledge as they might bring I'm sure we will see as many complications and arguments.

I do hope they have time to get a crop in, though because I have the feeling a herd might blow through. :zombie02:

Maybe do some cross stitch. I'm hoping that a love interest for Herschel has arrived. Not that they need to show anything but hand holding and a hint at romance. I didn't want to see Glenn and Maggie much less Herschel and ???? God forbid it be the woman w/ that hair from S@S's pic from another post.

They should've just driven the old folks to the nursing home in Atlanta. I did see a couple kids in that group, though, as well. There was a chubby little boy, age 7 or 8, climbing off the bus. Maybe that's what angered Carl. A new love interest for Beth or someone to usurp his imagined authority.

Is it irrational for me to have wanted them to stay consistent with the extras?

Thats the problem with featuring speaking roled memorable extras for scenes in shows , they often go off and get jobs elsewhere and then cannot do another appearance or unavailable if not signed under proper contracts.......actors gotta work.

I agree with ya! But I will give TWD some credit, they did manage to keep a small number of extras consistant, like the Long Hair guy. What I've noticed is that there seems to be 2 different groups of extras. One for Say the Word & Walk With me (basically pre mid-season finale) and one for Made to Suffer and onwards (post mid-season finale). A lot of the women and kids from 3x03 and 3x05 never appear after 3x08 and onwards. But oh well, guess they're all dead or left town on their own.

Not sure what interview this was, but I remember reading that Robert Kirkman stated that he thought there were other people on the bus we did not see in the finale, when asked how the prison was gonna be secure with all the old and young people. That being siad, perhaps we'll see new actors and (returning?) extras as Woodbury refugees show up in Season 4

No, not at all. I thought it was strange that Rowan was never seen again. She not only was the "tour guide", she was also seen in the Guv's bed. It seemed that they were setting her up to be part of the Guv's inner circle.

I started writing my own story for some of these characters, she was so upset after the Guv started sleeping with Andrea, that she threw herself over the wall to the walkers. ;)

Dr Stevens seemed like a very interesting character. From her short time on screen, she seemed like a compassionate women and I was looking forward to seeing how much she knew about the Guv's dirty secrets and whether she would condone them or not.

I think if they had focused on a few more characters in Woodbury, we would have cared about them more. I don't mean that they had to give them major story lines, but it would have better than seeing the majority of Woodbury residents as being sheeple.

maybe the gov used rowan as walker food. remember they showed where they took food to the walkers they kept for "games"
I was also irritated with the lack of consistancy of WB people. If you look at the past beginning ones you see lots of kids/ lots of middle to young age woman Not so many soldier guys or strong like long haired guy who I only saw when he got killed.
