It probably wasn't as rude as when I told this guy that I was working with the other month that he looked like my daughter's best friend (who is a girl). :P I showed him a picture of her, and he said he could see the resemblance. I shouldn't have said anything, but I couldn't get it out of my head - I swear they could have been siblings - it still kind of freaks me out.

I'm kind of unintentionally rude, at times, though.

It depends, like if you actually look like the actress that plays Robyn than thatss fine, but if your only similar features are your skin colour and hair colour than yeah it's kind of racist, even if its meant as a complement.

We didn't see the couple, though, so we have no idea how much they did or did not look like actors. I saw this one guy in the parking lot a couple years back that looked like a younger Daniel Dae Kim (Jin from Lost). I was driving, so I didn't tell him he looked like DDK, and I don't know if I would have, but that doesn't mean I think all men of Asian decent look like DDK, just that this one guy did.

What I wrote as far as the dialogue that went on between me and the guy, was verbatium, including "oh, ha ha I see what you did there." So I wasn't sweating about what I was doing or how I approach people/strangers. T'ain't skeerd and I realized a long time ago that you can't shut yourself off from others and so politely speaking to them, respectfully speaking to them. How is that racist? If I were, then why would I even consent to speak to them?
I find it amusing however that folks seem to have the talent of ESP to know if that guy was offended or not. Are ye human? Or are ye vulcan?

Oh by the way, it wasn't thought of as racist until it was brought up.

He didn't sound offended, from what you wrote, and you spoke politely enough, and I don't think you were being mallicious or prejudice against interracial dating or anything negative, but you kind of just went out of your way to tell them that they look like maggie and glenn just because of their race... I've actually heard the pocahantus/john smith comments and if its said respectfully I don't mind and won't get angry but its like were a couple not characters and our love shouldn't be compared to them just because were of the same race. It like devalues our relationship as individuals and its like all we are is our race, and that's a shitty feeling.

So wait, dead cave made a joke because he looked like Glenn. The person in question laughs. Random people on the internet that it didn't happen to automatically find it racist. So let me ask a question, If I met someone randomly who looked like walter white and made a joke, are people gonna cry racist too because he was white? Honestly, I don't even see deadcave bringing race into this, the people crying racist over nothing are the ones that are doing so. To me that is what seems racist.

I would say more, but honestly this isn't the place to throw out random beliefs, It's pretty much like politics or religion, so can we just please refrain from this nonsense and just comment on what happened here?

I thought it was actually pretty funny.

Suspension of Disbelief is a method of storytelling lazy and/or bad writers use. In reality there is no such thing, it's just fully recognized ignorance. Good authors don't need to use this. When you use an overwhelming amount of SOD in zombie fiction, all you are doing is making your readers into zombies.

Why is this all about being racist? Slight observations here..I get told I look like ray ramano...harsh I know....or alan from two and a half men...how? Idk maybe it's because my nose... is kinda big. Anyways. My old boss told me that and we joked all the time. Who cares? The point is I had fun with it....if the asian dude didn't flip whybis everyone else?
