I don't think Glenn has grown nor has he regressed. The reason why people think he has regressed is because everyone else in comparison has improved so drastically.

Good point but remember how awesome Glenn was the first time we met him? He was brave and went out on a limb to help Rick out of the tank. He was witty, funny, fast, and confident?! Now he is just sorta there....always a little mopey looking, no real opinions, insecure. I want the baseball cap wearing, fire escape climbing, walkie talkie baring fun Glenn back. I think Maggie and that Glenn would be a perfect duo.

You also forgot to mention reckless which tends to cause one to take aggressive risks. Now that he's tethered to Maggie, he's going to second guess many decisions. In that respect, yes, he's going to tone down his previous "totally awesome" actions.

I agree with the mopey, insecurity, and lack of personal opinion points though. The writers really need to turn him "into a man" like they've always spoke about. My niece said that Glenn became a man when Maggie took off his baseball cap for the first time. Ha!

That being said, I hope the witty, funny, fast, and confident version 1.0 Glenn comes back because of Maggie. Not the other way around where he loses those traits because of her.

I don't think that Glenn has regressed. The writers aren't giving him as many scenes as they did at first but he did offer to make the first run through the prison yard, which Rick declined. I think Glenn still steps up but he is not the one and only go-to-guy anymore.

After almost a year into the ZA and some pretty horrible experiences, maybe Glenn is not as happy-go-lucky. People he cared about have died. He's grown up, he's in an adult relationship now and he has someone else to consider.

He steps up, when Maggie LETS HIM step up.

He was a man when he told her he'd rather she was safe, than liking him. He has reverted to a little boy who follow her orders - hoping his GF likes him.

I think you just contradicted yourself there.

He said he would rather she hate him and be safe than liking him and dead. Therefore, it means he's not interested in appeasing her to gain positive feelings from her.

He has grown, just not in the way people would like. Nor is he whipped by Maggie (although that would be JUST SO NAUGHTY). He started out as a resourceful pizza boy who got lucky in finding a group and helped when he could. He was assigned the go-to guy for risky jobs. He probably saw that as his only worth and only future. When Maggie took a shine to him he became aware that he had more value than just being a future meal when his luck ran out.

Now he has matured and become more than just the scrappy guy who does stupid things during armageddon. He's not short round from Indiana Jones anymore.

He hasn't grown. Just the opposite.

"Step it up to Red Alert!"
"Are you absolutely sure, Sir? It does require changing the lightbulb."

It was last season he said that. That is my point. He would not say that now. He only seeks her approval, not her safety.
