She was a right evil cow though...I mean she manipulated Rick into killing Shane, and she played Shane which made him even more insane. She had it coming

I dont particularly like the actress who plays Lori anyway, so I was glad she popped her clogs!

"Popped her clogs"! I've never heard this phrase, but I'm stealing it!
To your point, Lori did without a doubt have a HUGE part in Shane's death. Whether she meant to with evil intentions and then came to regret is is the question. For what it's worth I don't think she meant for Rick to kill Shane, but her speech to Shane in Better Angels prompted Shane to make the attempt on Rick's life. Again, I don't think she meant for anyone to die, but hindsight is 50/50 and she spent the rest of her life eaten away by the consequences.

You haven't heard it because it's British!
And yeah - she did seem rather pissed at Rick when he said "I killed Shane" She probably spent the rest of the winter feeling like a right muppet.

I'm getting a new vocabulary. Next person I see is going to be told, "You there! Fuckhead! You're a right muppet and I hope you pop your clogs!"
Of course since a lot of people down here on the border don't even speak American English, I'll probably be met with a lot of blank stares.

Aha, we do have a rather weird vocabulary. People use "knobhead" more than fuckhead now though.
No matter what anyone says, Lori has always been an extremely important character. Like her or hate her, we wouldn't have a TWD without her and the show won't be the same without her.
This is true. We wont have her moaning in hysterics in the background anymore

You cold, heartless bastard!!
I fucking well don't avoid goddamn curse words because the sons of bitches express my feelings. Anyway, to the point...
I'm glad we finally have a contrary opinion. It's nice to sit around agreeng with each other, but it's not conducive to debate. Let me ask you: do you think you would have come to sympathize with Lori if the writers had had more time to develop her character as contrite and accepting the consequences of her actions last season?
To be honest I think it would have taken a lot more then the 2 or 3 episodes for it to have seemed like an honest change of heart. To me her self realization came across as her still only thinking of herself. Though I would like to think with more time she could have won me over. But, I digress, I hate carrying grudges as they give me terrible back pains (not to mention bad hair).

Given how close Rick and Shane were, Shane and Lori had probably been friends for a long time, about as long as Rick and Lori had been together. They were lovers for a few weeks at most.
After Rick arrived at the quarry, Lori angrily rejected Shane because of her own fear and shame and because she wrongly believed than Shane had lied to her about Rick. The little matter of Shane trying to rape her at the CDC didn’t help. But she cooled down enough to want Shane to stay with the group and after he acquired the medical supplies that saved Carl, she was grateful. I think that she just wanted to go back to their friendship and forget the affair had ever happened, just like she wanted to pretend the ZA had never happened by playing the happy housewife. Lori never wavered in making it clear to Shane that it was over between them.
But Shane couldn’t let go and it was worse after he found out Lori was pregnant. She came to realize that Shane was never going to give up and that he was a danger to Rick. She warned Rick. After Dale was killed and Rick made his speech about mending the group, Lori apologized to Shane to try to make things right between the three of them. But Shane was too far gone into crazyland to get it. Hence the lame murder plot.

I disagree with some of you that Lori manipulated Shane. I don’t believe that she did. (Actually, one of the reasons Shane was never a favourite with me was because of his attitude towards women and his manipulation of Lori in their first scene together.)

Totally agree on all accounts!
