I watched this scene six times, and I can tell you that is not what happened.

To start, Carol did run into the crowd to cover T-Dog. She had a clear shot to run towards Beth and Hershel, and a clear line to run with Carl and the others. She deliberately ran after T-dog as he went to close the gate, and she went to secure their exit. She grabs the door to check for walkers inside, and T-Dog reaches the gate.

I really hate to blame poor editting, but that is really what I see. Because T-Dogg pulls the gate clased as Carol pushes the door open to look inside, and that walker is nowhere to be seen. A second later the gate is open again, and the walker managed to stumble into T-Dog and bite him. It was clear, and then it wasn't. The gate was closed, and then it wasn't. :S

But no, I don't think Carol could have done more. She was low on ammo, and the door had to be checked, that was their only way out. By the time they got to the gate, six or seven walkers were already behind them, going back just was not an option, so if there were walkers in that hall, they were dead. She didn't escape into it, she just looked in.

Exactly. Carol couldn't have done anything to save T-Dog. If she hadn't checked the door, they both would have died and been eaten in the courtyard.

I hope nothing happens to Carol before she can do some more laundry. Daryl needs some clean clothes! By now, the one he has been wearing could stand up on their own and fight zombies. The might even win too.

LMAO! They're dumb for leaving Carol, Carl, Beth, Hershel, the other prisoner, and the baby alone. They need more man power if they get into a scuffle with walkers (which, obviously they do as shown in the preview). Daryl should've stayed behind, more people going to Woodbury means there's a bigger chance to be caught. I have a feeling that Carol AND Hershel won't make it past next week's episode after Carl screamed "Leave her behind!" and they showed him and Beth in the cell block alone. Idk about the baby...I have a hard time believing it won't make it. I hope they all make it, but a mid-season finale means there is, likely, going to be a pretty good sized body count...

Daryl couldn't stay behind because he and Merle had to see each other.

Why would Carol risk her life to help an already dead man? He was bitten, was changing very shortly. She was always going to be found alive and by Daryl. Now they will have sex.

Aye, and live happily ever after with lots of babies Daryl can nurse like a human-mother-hen.

Very nervous for Carol. I know I am, because I've dedicated my first post to mentioning how nervous for her that I am. She just came back, and I don't want her to have the same fate as in the comics. =/

I keep wondering why Kirkman said "Who knows what light we'll see her in when she comes back"

Unless he said that for shits and giggles while us Carol fans were wondering if she would really make it back, and if so in what condition.

And now she's back and she seems fine and normal to me. I expected to see her somewhat changed. I'm not sure. And the whole sub-plot of her disappearance is lacking a point... except for all the focus it put on Daryl and Carol's bond, there was nothing else to it. Seems like they left stuff hanging in the air to me.

But hey if they did it fo the sole purpose of sailing my ship. I've got no problems with that. Lol.

I only hope the person Carl speaks about leaving behind isn't Carol, or that he's talking about someone or something entirely unrelated. I want to believe she'll definitely make it, because she just JUST returned.

I really hope she makes it too. I would not think they would bring her back just to kill her. They need her now since they don't have many women left. And if she is gone who is gonna keep Daryl from going to the dark side with Merle.

Blimey, you most certainly have a way with words. And make lots of valid points, too.

You do need to work on your manners though; they're awfully unbecoming.

Yeah I can be a dick sometimes. Sorry about that,
