Also, & this may have already been discussed. But the Walker that chomped Hershel had been just sitting in the hall a couple of shots. They walked past it twice before it got "chompy". That part I didn't fully get.

I believe that they had gotten lost once the walkers came from different directions. Hershel went down a different corridor when he was bit. I don't believe they had passed the door (that they had to break into) before that.

Maybe lurkers were 'B' type personalities while alive. Ya know, just hang out until something good comes along, instead of going out and getting it. Or stoners, maybe. "Man, I'm just gonna sit down here in the hallway ... "

No they just ordered delivery. :D

I think I was just a bit TOO excited for this, and in the first few moments, I was just too pissed to even really care. My initial reactions were somewhere along the lines of, "This is the most boring and predictable Walking Dead episode I've seen." Every single thing I figured would happen--did. It's kind of frustrating when you're able to come up with the same ideas as the writers, aren't they supposed to be better at this than us? The only happy moment for me, was the prisoners and what is clearly
Spoiler

That being said, AFTER I re-watched the episode, I enjoyed the Daryl/Carol interaction and saw more of the friendship that has evolved when they've been surviving this winter, all of the advanced relationships caught my eye and were really enjoyable. I still cannot fathom why a group with one doctor, would take said doctor into the fray when they're THIS close to safety. Rick left Lori, Carol, Carl, and Beth alone to clear out the prison and it's just poor judgement. Seemingly the writers had no other "in" to have him injured. Also, the parallel with what Rick says in season 2 to Carol, "Call out her name softly, your voice will be the first one she'll hear" to Hershel hearing Maggie's soft cry, really got me. Like brought a tear to my eye, got me. Haha. I definitely liked the ep better, after a good re-watch. Very excited for next week.

I'd have to watch closely to see this and my only guess is that when Herschel went by he bumped it and the physical sensation of closeness woke it up for the chomp. It may have been to the point where it's other senses were dull when in the non moving state,

I was shocked to see Herschel's leg be amputated in the first episode. In the comics he is probably the most useful to the group during the prison arc ( he is their farmer! ). He also saved Carl's life. I hope Herschel survives the amputation, I've always liked him ( TV show more than comic. ) I'd hate to see him go too soon.

How did they get two sets of keys, When Rick, Daryl, Maggie, Glenn, Hershel and t-dog left Rick gave Carl one set of keys then he was seen opening a door later on. I only noticed one set of keys that Rick took from the guard?

Did they cut out those few seconds where Maggie screams loudly when she see's the riot gear walker? It's in the trailer but I don't remember it being in the episode...

I think this is a different walker than the one she killed. She screamed at this one but killed the other one. I think the one she killed had the helmet with shield on.
I need to watch the epi again.

I appreciate the kind words I see people have wrote about me. Things haven't been so great between me and Rick leading up to the prison and inside the prison too. I know Rick loves me, as does Carl. They just hold grudges for an extreme amount of time. Hopefully when our baby does arrive safe and sound it will bring us together. I just hope we can help Hershel though. I need him for my baby, I don't know if he will make it

*Weekly Update*- It's been chaos recently. Thank God I was able to save Hershel. Rick had to kill some of the prisoners but I back him with that. I really do. Me and Rick shared a moment, still not completly right but we are moving along...

I voted good, because it was well, mostly good. I enjoyed the action a lot, and establishing relationships and situations without too much talking. I'm also glad there seem to be prisoners already staying in the prison. I do hope some of them are there to stay with the group, as they have a women overload and I'm really going off Daryl and his romancing Carol bollocks, so I need a new guy to cheer for, someone other than Rick obviously. I'm loving this Rick btw; not that I didn't love him before, but I think he's had the most believable character growth and I like the direction he's taking.

I finally feel for Lori too, which is an achievement. Her predicament is awfully bad and I have the feeling this is not going to be a happy ending at all.

Andrea and Michonne was a bit too brief, but I suppose we're going to get into their story later on. I liked what I saw so far though.

Finally... Hershel, NOOO! I'm gutted, I don't want him to go. Hershel's interesting, the actor is one of the best on the show, and like I said we're left with too many women who aren't all that either. If he dies before Carol or Beth I'm going to be so disappointed.

I watched the show against on Friday (UK) and the show missed out parts I saw in my stream a week before. Such as Maggie and Glenn behind found, Maggie's screams, etc.

Wow, its taken me longer to read this thread than watch the show!

I really enjoyed it. I thought the time jump was covered well. As mentioned, it showed how the group has gelled. I thought t dog explained all of the missed winter very well during the map scene. I thought the comments on the herds were good, I actually hadn't given them much thought.

I did think it seemed a bit rushed, but equally I doubt u could relax until you'd found out what was inside the prison.

I too have avoided the site for fear of being spoiled, so herscels injury came as a surprise, but i had guessed a lurker would get someone.

Nice to have it confirmed some bits were cut over here, i was very confused as to how quickly the walkers passed and Rick et al escaped.

/looking forward to no.2.
