Hello Fellow Roamers & Lurkers,
I'm new to the forum and as a loooong time zombie fan, I am happy to be a part of this. My question is:

If you could bring back to life one character who has died in the comic book series, who would it be (not as a walker, but as if they never died.)? And why?

I'd bring back Judy. She'd be raised and protected by Negan and the Saviors. How crazy would that be?

Bringing any character back would change the whole dynamic of the book, I think. But one character I really miss is Hershel. I wish he and Billy would have survived the prision attack.

While Hershel's death was iconic (in terms of the comic) as he just... gave up after everything he'd been through, it still left me cold as Hershel was presented as such a family man, I don't think he would have stopped fighting for a split second knowing that Maggie was still out there somewhere. Prehaps he knew that Glenn would protect her, but that was never really a garantee, or maybe he just knew he wasn't get out of there alive anyway.

I also would have liked to see Billy expanded on more, he was a bit traumatised that Carol came to sleep with him and then killed herself. It would have been interesting to see how he would have evolved after that, and the prision drama. I don't think the comic has really focused much on the teenage angst side of things. I KNOW for a fact people will say it's boring etc but the only 16 - 20 year olds we had were Maggie and Glenn really.

I'd also like to see how Hershel would have reacted towards the growing Maggie/Glenn/Sophia family unit. My memory is a bit foggy, I don't think Sophia was calling them Mum and Dad in the prision? I think Hershel maybe would have called them out on it or maybe he would have accepted the role of grandfather in this pseudofamily?

The bittersweetness of the Walking Dead that makes it so good is the fact that characters generally die so long before their shelf life is up, there is always so much more to tell with them but Kirkman just kills them anyway. I guess it makes it feel more like 'real life' so to speak.

Notable characters I would have also liked to survive (might expand later): Amy and Alice! :)

I'm with the bringing back Herschel camp - the way he gave up in the prison assault didn't seem like him, plus his character had plenty of potential plotlines just based on what came after.  At the very least, as others have said, having him as the grandfather of the Glenn/Maggie/Sophia unit could have been explored, whilst now they are essentially growing food for the Saviours that gives him a key role in what happens in Alexandria/Hilltop, should Rick decide to stockpile food where Negan can't find it (say tearing up the floor of a few houses and using that as farmland, giving them more food) or sabotaging the harvest.

Also, it has to be said, Herschel was one of the characters who would challenge Rick on his decisions - although, as Tyreese, Dale and Abraham have also found out, even though they're right to call Rick on his misguided plans that always backfire on the whole party, it isn't Rick's chances of survival that get reduced to zero...

Also, obviously, Glenn - him trying to elude the Saviours while on supply runs would add tension to the book.

I would bring back the governor. He could have killed off the zombies at the prison and been fortified there. Then maybe have to join forces with Rick to take out Neegan.

While I would've liked to see the Guv get put on the back burner for a possible huge, warring factions arc, no way does he ever ally with Rick.

My vote would have to be Tyrese. He always backed Rick, yet knew when to challenge/beat the holy hell out of. Yet at the end of the day they had a mutual respect and admiration for each other, someone they knew when ish hit the fan would be right beside him. Great relationship.

If I had a resurrection machine, I would bring back in this order
1. Abraham (Why?!? Still not over it)
2. Tyreese (Nuff Said already about him)
3. Hershel (People above talked me into him or else it would be......)
4. Axel (You Follow Me?!?)

That's a good point.....there is a lack of well-developed teenagers.

And I felt Alice left us too soon.....I was just getting to know her.  Posted Image

this may sound weird, but I am serious....I would bring Judith back - not now, mind you, but I would have liked to see her survive the prison. I think oit would have been pretty cool to see them surviving on the land while also caring for a baby - trying to keep her from crying when a hoard is near. Think of Carl caring for his dad when he was sick in the house with that little baby and no idea what to do and it is just mailing....good times. hell carl could have killed her (accidentally?) to keep her quiet when a large group of zombies was near and his daddy was out cold - he would have to explain to his father what happened and....drama!

other than that I would bring back the governor just so he could give Negan high fives whenever he did something awful. he would also be the perfect umpire for Negans softball team.

I feel like doc. Stevens went too soon. They could've at least killed him on the road back to the prison..

And Allen, I would've liked to see more of him.

I think it has to be Tyrese.
I just feel like the whole group would be doing a lot better if he was still around. The dude is probably the best zombie fighter in the book except for maybe Michonne.

This has to be the correct answer.

1. Morgan ( Could of become Rick's right hand man)
2 .Billy Greene (Thought he had potential to sort of become a maijor badass)
3. Ceaser Martinez ( He could of been a guy we all rooted for)
4. Tyresse ( He's Tyresse)
5.  Abe ( He could of helped Rick out with the inevitable battle with the Savior's)

Morgan was never going to be a right hand man, he was too fragile.

Maybe, but I highly doubt it. I feel like Morgan was just a mild version of carol ex. "Weak and unable to cope" even if his overall mentality changed, I didn't think kirkman was ever going to build him up and I was right...for once

I would bring Alice and Billy back to life because both were useful, Alice is a doctor and I think I can remember Billy helping Hershel farm. I liked both of them and I wish they were expanded on more. Hershel's farm would have more of a point as well if 2 people lived. I don't actually know if she is dead but I wish we got to know more about Lilly after she killed the Governor and Lori and Judy. Maybe a mini-series about Lilly and the rest of their group returning to Woodbury to find it run over or something. It's cool to see her in the video game too. A special mention for Axel and Tyreese but if they didn't die the Governor wouldn't be as evil.

I really wish they would have kept the First Scavenger. I mean, he could have been an important piece in the zombie apocalypse. Think of all the skills he may have possessed. The man may have even had a family to take care of! We may never know...because...well...

The bastards pushed him into a hoard of walkers! Dear God, the humanity! He trusted them! Our hero actually trusted them, and they pushed him to the walkers so they could escape! This was the biggest tragedy ever in the entire com-...wait...

Dude, totally bring back Axel! What was I thinking...?
