As most of you know, I don't jump into the forums that often.  I try to take a hands off approach and let you guys run willy nilly through the site as you will.  This makes me happy, seeing people enjoy and partake in the forum.  

We've been a little slow lately, as the show is waiting for season 2, but all of you guys know that this is your little zombie luvin' slice of the internet, and your welcome to continue the willi'ng and the nilli'ng as much as you want, but dude do the spammers love our forum.  

Seems that our little reCaptcha bot prevention thinger has been cracked, and bot's are just loving the hell out of our sign up form. I had to change the way people sign up to the forum just to be able to have some control.

But !@#$!#$!@$#!@@!!!!!!! this man!  I just deleted 850 IP addresses, and it's get's worse everyday.  I'm trying to find a solution to this, but pretty much the news is that you guys won't see me as often as you wish, because I'm a 'bot killin'.  It wouldn't be that bad except I have to do it daily, because regular folks are held in a queve until I can give them the bot check.  

So have fun you guys, here in roamers and lurkers land, and do with the willy nilly.  Papa is killin' roaches.

I dunno. I'm inclined to think that would be more wreckless abandon. Now, if you were wearing one of those hats with a propeller and a grass skirt while running with scissors that would be willy nilly. More or less.

What type of verification system are we using now? Still sign up, wait to get approved? I always found that you get less spam bots with the traditional sign up, get an activation code sent to an e-mail address, activate through the link there, tended to be a good spambot killer on the forums I've run.

Kaf_Feh, the problem is, denying a range of IPs leaves the potential you block a legitimate user for coming in. All it takes is one person's work network to get a spambot, our fearless leader blocks that grouping and then we may just block one of the best posters ability to communicate with us. I get your thought but in general mass block really causes more problems then solves them.
