Mazarra tweeted a bunch of advice for writers last week. One of his jewels of advice was, don't write flashbacks, they are boring. Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image

On the Dish Network war with AMC, he seems to think they will settle it by October. I'll be one pissed off zombie stalker if they don't. Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image
For a reasonable fee, I will quell minor outbreaks, enforce quarantines, and dispatch infected relatives.

I love talking to Glen on twitter.

A lot of people get angry with him because they think he's a douche. But he's not. He just likes to keep things lively. If you can't handle sarcasm, you need to get off of twitter, tbh.

I see his hatred of flashbacks as a guard against the overuse of them. The action could get really clunky and slow if the flashback became the preferred method of storytelling. I liked the few flashbacks they used, and there is always the possibility of webisodes for times when backstory needs to be handled that way, but I tend to agree with him about their use on the show.

Flashbacks and short prequel episodes could be fun as a DVD extra, though. Something that won't slow the show down but the fans would dig.
