Rosita, Holly and Eugene were all characters that (for various reasons) I did not like when they were introduced.

Rosita seemed like a ditsy tart, Holly a power hungry bitch and Eugene a lying coward.

However, since then the characters have grown on me so much, to the point where I would list Rosita in my top few characters of the series at the moment. Does anybody else feel like this?

Also, what about the other way around? I think it's very easy to get bored of certain characters the longer they are around (or prehaps they just have had a longer time to do stupid things? lol). For instance, I really liked Dale near the start of the comics, but for a long time prior to his death I found him really irritating!

How have your opinions on various characters changed throughout the series?

There's almost no one in Alexandria I like, so most anyone introduced that I disliked ... my opinion never changed.

On the other end of that spectrum, I find Michonne boring these days.

Agreed about Eugene.  Never much like him until he bit Dwight.

even when I didn't like eugene I always liked having him around, hes just one of those great well-constructed characters, but its true, I have started to actually like him! and Rosita is hot stuff, I will never grow to like holly though.

I disagree about the people in Alexandria though, Aaron and Eric are one of my favorite couples, I don't care for Eric so much, but Aaron shows a lot of potential, I also like Olivia, Nicholas, and Heath a lot

as for characters that I used to like a lot and they have kind of dullened recently, Glenn and Maggie, I used to love both of them, but maggie has just gotten extremely boring, and they seem to have stopped going anywhere with glenn, granted I still love him, just because its glenn

I didn't like Andrea at first, but she grew on me fast enough

There are a handful of characters I used to like a lot but don't so much anymore. Glenn and Maggie particularly, bit I guess because I've lost interest since they never do anything anymore. I'm sure they could redeem themselves. I also used to like Carl but he's so annoying now

Wasn't a great lover of Carl and seem to dislike him more as he's progressed. I don't dislike Holly *waits for abuse* i always feel people dislike her because of her love triangle and the comment she made about Rick, which everyone at one moment has agreed with. He has made the odd wrong decision, and people will dislike his decisions. She has lost all of her friends (Bruce,Tobin and Abraham) and she's one of few that has some balls, not literally, but I think she's pretty cool.  Never liked Spencer, he's a douche.

I've grown to like all the characters in their own way, although the Alexandrina are the hardest to like because you don't see much of them or from them. I really didn't like Rosita and Gabriel, but they've grown on me. I don't want to see any of them die because I want to see more from them, but I fear this next issue will be goodbye for a lot of them.

Didn't like Abraham, Rosita, or Eugene at first but they all ended up growing on me. Eugene is getting some great character development lately.

I used to really really like Michonne, Glenn and Maggie but all three of them are useless now. Kirkman needs to give them something to do or off them. I guess Maggie has a storyline now that she's pregnant, so I don't want her to bite the dust yet.

Same goes for Carl. He's the worst character in the tv series and he's becoming really annoying in the comics as well.

I didn't like Axel at first but I think he is in my top 3 characters of all time now, even though he's been dead forever.

I follow you! Posted Image

I agree about Michonne, Glenn and Maggie have taken a bit of a back seat recently in favour of advancing Rick, Carl, Andrea and the Hilltop/Alexandria/Better World track. One of those three will definitely be biting it in #100. I still like them though (except Maggie, never really liked her). Michonne for her story with the Guv' and Glenn because, well... to quote an earlier poster.... it's Glenn!

I liked Rosita at first and everything but she only recently became one of my favorites of the group, mainly because of the way she handled

and what she said to Holly afterwards. I think it shows a lot of maturity on her part and how far she's come to be able to let go of past tensions.

In a way I think the older characters could take a back seat for awhile so we could get to know the others. We already know glen, Michonne and kind of assume what their daily life's consist off, they would need to release issue quicker or put more in if they were to include all the characters into a story line. Although 99 has introduced all these characters probably mostly to kill them.

I can see where you're coming from, and I too think it would be okay for the older characters to take a back seat for the newcomers to get more character development, but the problem with that is that the newer characters AREN'T getting character development. The oldies are on the backburner, and so are the newbies.

I may be in the minority but I think they focus too much on Rick and Carl. I want to see some of the more mysterious lesser known characters like Olivia, Heath, Aaron, Denise, etc.

The only characters who have gotten any sort of development recently are Eugene and Rosita. So 2 out of 20 something characters is not really that great in my eyes.

Better than nothing I guess.

I couldn't stand Abraham at first but once he and Rick went off to
Spoiler
and they had their talk, they seemed to level with each other better. After that I liked how he came to respect Rick a lot and become his go to guy for a long time.
