I used to know 3 guitar chords.  I only remember 2.  I'm pretty sure that's good enough for me to be an autotuned pop star, though.

I'd say you're an overachiever. Now lets go make a gold record.

Violin and piano. It's been so long, though. I've been dying to pick up the violin again but I can't afford the classes. Boo.

Does Guitar Hero count? If so, I'm a badass drummer.

I mostly learned how to keep a beat on drums by Air Drumming. Haha. Surprisingly it helped a lot. I still suck though compared to my actual drummer. That guys pretty nuts on the kit and a couple drummers before him the guy was a beast.

I don't own a kit, but I like to bang around on one when I get the chance. Someday when I have some extra $ I'll probably pick one up. Were you classically trained? I only know like those couple of simple kids songs on piano, therefore I don't consider myself able to actually play piano.

And as far as guitar hero, any time I've played that game I suck, but it's nothing like actually playing a guitar, which I can play IRL. Lol

Bass guitar, I've been playing since I was 11 but I am only 12 and I'm quite good at it.
I kinda want to play electric guitar as well but I think I should just focus on bass.

Depends, sometimes it's loose and sometimes it's hard and once a fortnight it seems a bit spicy.

I was really interested in learning to play Guitar when I was younger. But, it has become very main stream now and really isn't a talent that impresses people anymore because every kid and his mother does it.

Still interested in learning Drums sometime soon

It was that way 13 years ago when I first picked up a guitar. And probably 13 years before that, and 13 years before that. In fact I'm primarily a bassist, because a lot of people were playing guitar and I guess I wanted to do something different. Several of the bands I listened to have bassist's who were also the frontmen of their band which was a big inspiration. It wasn't until about 3 years ago that I started playing guitar seriously. I needed the change, though I do miss playing in bands and having that heavy bottom end to lock up with the drums. Maybe someday I'll move back to it. I'd say if you really want to learn an instrument, who cares if it's mainstream? Sure there are a lot of people doing it (like farrrr farrrr too many douchebags & hippies playing guitar), but if you're passionate about it that shouldn't stop you. And drums are pretty fun to play, but I know a lot of drummers too.

Used to spend years taking drum lessons, but I never practiced, so I'm just average at them.

I have zero musical talent when it comes to playing an instrument.

I can sing. Years ago I sang with this or that Rock bands and I have been a frequent contributor at many piano bars and Karaoke pubs.

I picked up a guitar at a rather noisy party once and started strumming and fretting like I knew what I was doing. I had about a dozen people completely fooled until some wise guy stuck his head down close to the guitar and said, "Hell y'all, he ain't playing shit".

For a reasonable fee, I will quell minor outbreaks, enforce quarantines, and dispatch infected relatives.

I remember years ago when I was about 7/8 I played trombone in school and I was terrible. I didn't know what I was doing but I thought it was fun :D If I had a trombone now I would have no idea how to use it correctly

I resentfully took violin lessons for years (I really wanted to play piano).  I haven't played in years but would love to pick it up again.

It's all daft. Daft like buggery, innit?

I've played the accordion for about 7 years and the guitar for 2, but I'm so bad considering how long I've played that I tell people I've only been playing the accordion for 5 :$

Shame the accordion isn't appreciated here as much as it was back where I lived :'(

I'm primarily a guitar player, but on most of my band's records I played a little of everything. With the exception of one recording I did all the guitar, bass and keyboards, as well as vocal harmonies and backing percussion. If you give me a half hour with any musical instrument I can pretty much figure out how to play it passably. The new recordings will be all me. My band peaked in 2006, but still fell short. We made the Grammy ballot with a recording that was done for $13 in my parents spare bedroom. We were a metal band that lost out to Tony Bennett, of all people, for the final slot in the category of Best Instrumental Arrangement with Accompanying Vocals. I was told we missed it by two votes. Not bad for no budget and competing against full orchestras, but I REALLY wanted that damn Grammy!

Wow dude, impressive!

You can certainly do a lot with little to no budget. Hell, Foo Fighters won a grammy for There is Nothing Left to Lose and that was recorded in Dave Grohls basement by themselves wasn't it? I'm sure they had some kind of budget, but still. You sounds like one of my good buddies though, he can play any instrument he picks up and is well versed in theory. He hasn't been in a band though since we were in a band together oh so many years ago, just kind of working in the music business or teaching music.
