It's 2 or 10 or 20 years after the main "infection" started, Zs are mostly gone..what are your thoughts on which shape is humanity  ??

Spoiler

9x% of the population is gone, you choice how much,as reference http://en.wikipedia....ation_estimates, 10% (700Mil)  around 1700AD, 1% (70Mil) around (500-1000BC).

Your choice if we're all infects (harder) & come back as Zs once dead also for natural causes or only after Zs bites (easier).

OK, my thoughts:

- with very few exception (of few hundreds max survivors) humanity will be scattered in many little clans/tribes
A huge difference from the past is that there won't be probably  any civilization catalyst (i.e. cities) left, a scattered humanity ..

Spoiler

- possibly a "revenge" of Third World societies ? More used to low level technologies (could be easier for a Masai herder to make a spear/spoon/pot than us) & hardship than us ?

- possibly individualistic society (i.e. Western world) fare better than collettive societies (i.e. Asian's ones) ? Or au contraire worst ..

- spiritual & medical changes, expecially if we're all infected ..
How to handle/consider your dead loved ones ?
Not a lot of CPR anymore I suppose .. more an icepick as standard tool for doctors

- advantage for warring countries/group (Afghanistan, Yemen, Somalia, Masai, Cossaks, violent gangs) ?

- all system of governments, from dictatorship, theocracy to democracy (not saying that democracy = Western world & dictatorship = Third World, I imagine more easier a sort of democracy in the surviving Tupi Amazon indians that between NYC, Paris or London survivors, at least at the beginning)

In general I've this idea that "less" civilized societies could handle better, from any point of view, including the spiritual one a similar apocalypse..

The future ?  regrouping, rebuilding skills/technologies (for a long while a lot of scavening, need to rebuild lot of different technologies to make even a pin from scratch), eliminate the occasional Z, handle possible epidemic & killing each other as usual ..

Just my 2 cents ......

Luciano

In the Walking Dead universe it's already happening. Rick and his group, the Governor and so on. Man is too gregarious of a species to stand out alone for long.
Stephen King wrote it best with the 2nd half of the Stand, post plague populations coming together and forming micro-societies and eventually enough to create a large township/small city. Reality is that there won't be a Randall Flagg/Mother Abigail antagonist dynamic going on, the good vs evil thing. But there will be good groups and bad groups.

People gather together for safety, for ease of food gathering/distribution and companionship. This they will do after the last Z has dropped dead for the last time.

For the time being there'll be pockets of survivors of various sizes. Each will do whatever they feel is necessary to survive.

I agree the old government(s) will fall away because there's no might to support their authority anymore. Oh they'll TRY alright and people will gravitate towards them because it's a comfortable and familiar thing... but eventually unless they turn into a fascist dictatorship to maintain it's tentative hold on the shell shocked survivors, people will wise up and fall away.

We're not so dependent upon technology that we can't live "off the grid". The adults and children of this age are savvy enough to be able to put the pieces back. Not to  mention there's enough printed data laying around to actually get a city's power-plants fully functional again.

3rd world countries will have the opportunity to rise to the status quo that they would've otherwise never been able to do in this modern age. The prime element of GREED has been drastically reduced (not wholly eliminated). I'm guessing that most of the "super-rich", the Gates, Rockerfellers, JP Morgans and Zuckerbergs , if they survived the initial outbreak will  be seeking to re-established their position in society whenever it re-forms.
69% of the people find something dirty in everything they read.
