Am I crazy and the only one who actually cares about your Rep. on Roamers and Lurkers? I find myself checking it every couple days, finding out I went up from 22 to 25 and get very pleased with myself. I guess its one of those irrational things that will really earn you nothing, much like Xbox 360 Achievements... or Achievements in anything. (WoW, Diablo 3). Am I the lone soul that feels this way?

I don't really care, but it annoys me when I see my rep go up by 10 points and I don't know which posts were repped. so yes, I do care.

This is what I think; I like rep since it's a way of telling someone 'you're doing it right', but not knowing where exactly you did it right is quite frustrating.. I wish you could just click on your rep and it would come up with the posts where you gained it.

You are definitely not the only one who cares.  I check it from time to time, and I am always happy to see that it has gone up a little.  I have to admit I don't exactly understand what people give points to.  I think I saw someone get a point for a "Yes, I think so, too" or something equally banal.

You may nonetheless be crazy.

I also feel good when I start what I feel is a "successful" thread.

I happen to peek once in a while, and it's neat when it's gone up a bit, but I don't really think about it much.  It's just a fun widget to me -- another tiny way to interact with the content and people here.

We're a pretty friendly bunch here, from what I can tell.  The trend I've noticed is that if someone's in the red, it means they either are banned or are on their way to earning it.  I've been on other forums that were much harsher on ratings, so you'd see the whole gamut.  Not so much here. Seems to me that if this bunch dislikes or disapproves of something, we simply don't vote at all rather than downvote.  I only tend to see downvotes on belligerent or very rude posts.

I've actually been happy and impressed with how cool everyones been lately. Thanks everyone for keeping things relaxed and in the rules. I hate to have to bring out the whip! (or do I..?)

She looks better now Barry. So she can come sing "Wild Horses" for me anytime. I would have liked to hear her sing before the makeover. Women aren't just a face. There is so much more under the surface. Looks are  fragile things soon ravaged by time. The saying is actually wrong Ugly is only skin deep. Beauty goes clear to the bone and even deeper.
