Question for our British brothers and sisters here. I think i have read some of you use the term chavs before. I am just curious in this artice here would you describe the thugs as chavs.

Chav's are known to cause trouble, but not by going around stabbing people. It's a term mainly referred to white youths who dress like this





I wouldn't call the people responsible for the attack chavs, just scum compton/crip inspired gangsters who think they're the shit.

Yes thats a chav situation right there.
it includes a pub which is normally where chavs live lol
it has something to do with football which many chavs have as a religion.
and violence and crime. the perfect ingredients for them to be chavs.

"Chavs" irritate me alittle. I will never get why they act in the way they do. Talking in slang all the time, wearing those clothes etc. It certainly does not give a good impression to many people.

Ok, so Ansceniiiic, i am guessing by your refernce to Chavs being white youths. This would dispell my assumption that the miscreants were chavs. Also may be an americanism here we use the term hoodies, is that the type of clothing they are describing with had their hoods up???

In my experience such people have a phobia about having a large handgun pointed at them. They also communicate very well with each other. Threaten one's life and the whole pack will begin to avoid you very quickly. Sadly some less enlightened countries frown on such methods of clearing bums out of an area.

In my opinion chavs sprang to life due to it being easy to live in England...

The amounts of benefits they get for just turning up on the council's doorstep is astonishing; it is enough for them to live on without having to worry about 'the future' as to say since they can rely on them forever as long as they keep on having children and excuses as to why they're not working (that's why there's so many of them; they reproduce like rabbits...).

Being lazy in life and not working for anything isn't a good attitude and that's one of the reasons why some people's thoughts towards work have deteriorated; their thought is 'if I can get money by not working, why should I work in the first place?'. It's bloody annoying seeing a chav with an iPhone 4S who lives on benefits in a shitty council flat while you have to put up with your own cheap phone/TV/etc.

Of course, not all chavs are like this since some can be quite wealthy and have great jobs - they simply hang around with the wrong crowd. And not everyone who relies on benefits are chavs; some have no other alternative due to disability or being refugees from another country, but they normally get back on their feet instead of sucking up from the government as much as they can.

However, this small number of 'scum' is increasing more and more... it's pretty frightening.

problem with violent chavs that are under 16, you try and fight back or threaten them they run straight to the police and you get prosecuted for child abuse or threats or violence against a minor. the Brith tabloids are well documented with stories of homeowners protecting property getting arrested or men protecting their families from chavs being the ones ending up in jail.
you pull a weapon on an underage chav and you can kiss 5 years of your life away in prison.

the whole British justice system comes down heavy on vigilantes and folf defending themselves.
which is why I choose to live in the USA, fully protected with common sense laws, such as the right to self defence "castle doctrine" and the law allpwing me to legally keep a loaded firearm in my car and home.
