This is going to sound like a typical old guy going on about how good the old days were. It's not, I was there in the old days. They weren't that good. Anyway, I went back to college later in life, Freshman year I took English Comp. The professor and I got to be friends because we had a roughly the same tastes in literature.

One night we were sitting around bsing. He pulled out some papers he was grading and asked me my opinion. I was rather shocked. They were basically on the same level I had learned in the seventh grade.

It's not the kid's fault. I've seen the subjects my three sons took in high school. The curriculum is weighted with what I would call politically corect, feel good crap classes. Not nearly enough emphasis is placed on core curriculum. There's a lot to be said for the three R's. Call me a fossil, but I think our children are being short changed by the education system or tax dollars pay for.

He managed to delete the worst of it before he was booted.  He called me a fag.  It almost hurt my feelings.  But then I started looking at lolcats again to post in the hijacked thread and forgot about it.

I think he may have been someone from the forum's past, Rumiel. Some people get banned and then rejoin with a different IP address. I would have to look at his posts to be sure. Some people are easy to recognize by their style of writing.

P.S. Just looked. Style is close, but I can't be sure. Could just be a random jacka##.

Damn, too bad. He can't seem to control himself. That last post created a mental picture a 7-8 year old brat with his fingers in his ears. He seems to enjoys the forum so it makes his banning a bit sad but I doubt a temp banning would do any good.

If he is mature enough he might repair the damage using back channels I guess, but he is far more likely to find another way in.

I think it was just the sheer unfriendly psycho nature of his retaliation to a simple reply.
I've had my posts deleted before and it's no big deal, they have their rules and this is their web site, and we are here to just post stuff relevant or interesting or wacky.  I try to not piss people off nor disrespect folk, as I try to act on here as I am in real life.
