Am I the only one who can't remember certain characters?
We have just been with this group for a long period of time and there are a few that I just cannot remember.
I also don't remember Hershel's death. I know thats bad but I just cant.
Is it just me that forgets people and events?
How many times have you all read it though?

I've often forgotten about characters like Allen, Andrew, and Patricia (they were incredibly minor and didn't do much at all in the story)
However, characters like Hershel, Lori, Dale, Carol, Tyreese, etc ; they've all stayed with me.

I don't forget about anyone in 1-48, but after that I feel a lot less connected with the new comers, like the road to Alexandria crew, Alexandra, and now the new lot from hilltop. I tend to forget things they did and said in the past issues, maybe I'm just to similar with the original survivors from the prison.

I think some of it had to do with the art work. With less & less detail its easier to forget characters. I know some of it is writing, but the art is playing a key role...to me.

I'm too invested in this series to forget any of the characters. As sad as this is I find myself thinking about this series ALL THE TIME, including characters like Patricia and Allen, who were very minor.
Even the newer characters all have meaning to me. Maybe I get attached to characters in stories too easily but there aren't really any characters that I've forgotten about. If you gave me a picture of each one, I could easily name them. That might be sad, but its the life of a nerd!

I don't forget the characters. I do have trouble telling who is who. Particularly in the Alexandria group. Eugene looks more like Dale every issue. I have to do a doubletake every time Andrea is shown with her hair down. Is it just my old eyes or does anyone else feel the same?
Don't be scared. Come with me! It'll be fun. Promise!

Yeah I may not remember extremely minor characters but I remember the main ones...I thought Herschel's death was so brutal so I remembered it...

I do agree with you on this! Many have complained about Adlard's art because of the way he draws the characters.
Adlard draws Andrea almost identical to Amy.
Maggie and Glenn look almost exactly the same, and Maggie has a mullet.
If Andrea was 20 years younger she would look exactly like Sophia.
When Heath had his hair down in bed and Denise was talking to him, at first I thought she was talking to Michonne in her bed.
And why do all the women have freckles the size of craters?
So what I am trying to say is, no, it's not just you!

I can't keep track of the Alexandria crew AT ALL. I know maybe 2 of their names... Its weird how none of the Alexandria crew has become a real main character and has stuck them in minor roles for the most part. The Hilltop crew I forget as well, besides Jesus but I think most people have that issue. I mean... Rick and the gang only spent 2 issues in Hilltop. Didn't give us a lot of time to meet them.
...That is pretty bad.

Well, we can let it slide this once. We will be gathering wood though. Just in case we need to burn a heretic at the stake or something, you know.
