Hello! this is the first topic made, I apologize if there's already a topic on this... just something I found interesting while my boyfriend and I re-watched season 1 with his sister. (she hadn't seen season 1 yet.)

When Jenner is testing the brain sample in... I believe episode 5, right before "decontamination" begins and torches the whole room, the warning voice is heard saying something along the lines of "fumes poisonous if inhaled"...

Am I to assume that was a very subtle way of telling us "warning; this whole zombie apocalypse thing is contagious by breathing"? I just found this interesting on both an impressive scale and a nerdy scale... because they straight up told us, but it was so cleverly subtle that no one actually noticed.

Cool observation, Mary.  I think you are onto something. I have re-watched the first couple of episodes, but I will have to keep going.  I want to hear that again for myself.
+1 from me.

Well he spilled something didn't he? Wouldn't what he spilled on the sample make some toxic fumes or something unrelated to

Thank you! Posted ImagePosted Image I can't take all of the credit, my boyfriends sister was the serious mastermind. That was the second time she had seen that episode in a matter of 24 hours... and she knew from us watching in the living room that

. So when that part came on, she was like "wait, poisonous in the air?"

I then proceeded to flip out like the nerd I am and began to talk excitedly fast, explaining to my boyfriend what we had just discovered. lol. It was a great moment...

HockeyMike: If my memory suits me (yes, my memory from a few days ago is THAT shakey right now.. lol... a lot of work and not enough sleep), I believe what happened was he was trying to break down the brain sample, and liquid from said sample spilled. Which began to seep through his gloves and caused "decontamination" to take place. (and apparently

What I'M wondering is... if you can combat the fever that strikes when bitten, can you beat the zombie virus? but that's a whole other topic in itself.

obviously the fumes were corrosive because the liquid burned through jenner's glove. that's what I always assumed.

There have been a few scenes that us diehard fans can pick up some clues.

I was reading a recap about this scene (in Pretty Much Dead Already) where they talk about the bible verse that Hershel is reading. I am not familar with Bible Verses but apparently, it is Luke 8, where Jesus brings Jairus’ 12 year old daughter back from the dead. So anyway, I re-watched the episode and the camera does a guick pan over the bible and if you pause the video, you can clearly see what Bible verse it is.

I always thought the poisonous fumes were caused by a chemical reaction when he spilled the liquid. Had that reaction caused the infection to become airborne, Jenner would have been a little more upset. Plus, if that reaction had only caused the group to become infected...

I don't think Mary was saying that is when the virus became airborne. The ZA had already happened. I think she was saying that they gave us a clue about everyone being infected.

Throw in the fact that they burned the bodies, and also Atlanta was napalmed...it's easy to see how the virus could go that route.
