I would tend to agree. Cold open, then the titles, then the present time (when the Ricktatorship is doing its thing at the cabin or prison, or wherever it's going to end up taking place in S3's first ep. I know Glenn Mazzara has said he hates flashbacks, but if done right (think the Shane shower/head-shave segment leading up to the reveal about him shooting Otis), it could really work.

I, personally like flash forwards. Like the way they started, 18 Miles Out, with Shane running from the walkers. It immediately piques my interest. Not that I'll really need my interest piqued for the Season opener....but I'm just saying I like it when they do that.

Yeah, a linear timeline could get old fast.

Its not the flash forward I was talking about it's more the 'Z gladiator ring'.  I could see them doing a flash forward to the prison maybe fighting some of the z's then go back to where they left off in S2 to give a glimse of what's comming.

BUT  I just don't think it would happen, or be a good idea for the show.  I have read every single comic to date and absolutely love both the GN's and the Tv series,  I knew Michonne would enter at some point so even though i was suprised by her entrance i wasn't suprised by her character or her 'pets'.   A few of my friends, for example, haven't read a single comic and don't know what's comming up (even if there are differences between the two). When Michonne made her entrance they didn't know what to think,  they where completely shocked and didn't know where the story would go from here, if it would take an even more fantasy world.

I get that this has been discussed in several other threads but, well, the first couple of series have been believable.  If the zombie virus/disease whatever did suddenly break out, you could physically put yourself into Rick's shoes, or any of the other characters. But Michonne is just a far extreme, almost super hero like! Don't get me wrong i love the character and enjoy her story/interactions throughout the comics. But you have to think about the other people out there who have only seen whats been showed on Tv. Going from such a dramatic ending of S2 to this would make so many viewers be like wtf am I watching?

So therfore in conclusion I think it would be just too 'outlandish' to be considered. I could be wrong though many of you on this board haven't read the comics and could love the idea?!

Sorry for the essay i just wanted to convey my point accurately

now that I've read the comics, I think they have equal bust potential...Michonne because her character is much longer lasting that the governor and she plays such a vital role in keeping the group safe, so if she busts, it would REALLY affect the story arc in the long run..the governor because he's such a sick, twisted s.o.b. and really just makes the audience uncomfortable and disgusted so if he busts, then we won't have that "pure evil" character on the show unlike anything we've seen before...
Mrs. DD shall henceforth be known as: Tits McGhee, the ginger pork chop queen who subdues opponents by clobbering them with her ample boobage

They probably won't drop the ball for either one of them. Michonne has a bunch of hype going into Season 3 from her appearance in Season 2. The Governor is the one real antagonist that they have had excluding Walkers themselves. The end of Season 3 and most of Season 4 will probably be heavy on the Governor. The only way I can see them dropping the ball is whiny comic book fans who are still desperate to cling to the TV series being like the comics.

Shane lived to the end of the Greene Farm arc! Numerous characters haven't been introduced! Who the hell is Daryl Dixon?!

I believe that the changes they make to Michonne and The Governor will be necessary for the different scenarios placed before them than in the comics. Hell, they spent a whole season on Herschel's farm... There are gonna be stories that weren't in the comics to increase the length of the season, and these storylines will change the characters. Some people will like it, and some won't.

Not to mention this is television... Not a comic book. There are rules to what they can and can't do and Michonne and The Governor are pretty brutal, violent characters.

I think Michonne has a better shot at transitioning.  The governor has the bigger bust potential because he is such an insanely over- the-top villain, to the point where he is a bit cartoonish.   His story  arc becomes a bit ridiculous because

I hate to say this but I think some people are not taking in account that this isnt premium cable and they cant to stuff like True Blood, Game of thrones and stuff like that, which is what the Govnor does in the comic series. They will have to tone it down no doubt about that and i think fans of the comics will be disappointed. I do believe they can make Morrissey look the part with the right make-up artist.

Many things can be done though using insinuation.

Well actually, the Guv's boys would first be whacked off (bad wording, I know) and placed on a roaming Galapogos Tortoise  which is actually a bomb in disguise. It would then blow up in your face and no, you wouldn't nor would he wanna... you know... find out if he can vaccum out golf balls from the water hose...

Haven't you seen Breaking Bad?

In my opinion the Governor and it's no question.  He is the first major human threat that our survivors have to deal with; sorry guys Merle doesn't quite count, nor do the Vatos.  The Governor will be the first person that makes the survivors question whether walkers or other humans are the real threat in this world.  If he isn't portrayed and executed in the proper fashion it will be a major blow to the comic book fans of the show and being one of them I will be very disappointed.
