Anybody think the fact that these covers are "headless" (i.e. not darkened and in panel like 97, 100, and 101) leads credence to the possibility of the Dixon brothers and T-Dog's introduction, as these covers look like the 3 characters as well? Are Kirkman and Adlard just toying with us?

I don't necessarily want Daryl and Merle in the comics, but I am willing to come to terms that they'll probably appear, but PLEASE no T-Dog. His introduction would be so pointless. So far he has been pretty useless on the TV show, so I don't see the need to add him to the comics.

T-Dog would be the most pointless entry to the books. He doesn't even serve a purpose in the show. They should have waited to just introduce Tyrese who actually is a damn good character. If any character from the show got introduced I would hope that it would be Daryl. Daryl is an awesome character but I do not know how you can introduce him into the books and actually do his character justice by not having him seem just forced. In the end I think Kirkman will do what is right and show us another great piece to his awesome story.

Right near the bottom of the page. Clearly two of the guys are white and the bald guy looks like he's black or latino.. hard to tell. I don't think they look like Merle, Daryl and T-Dog though. I can't imagine why, if the brothers Dixon are racist, they would allow T-Dog to be in their group in the first place. I think that alone rules out the possibility of these guys being them. Could be wrong though, but I hope I'm not. The only one of those Something to Fear covers that has any possibility of being Daryl is the one with the crossbow.

don't dount out t dog on the tv show.  he will have a big roll in season 3.  why do i say that?  they arn't going to kill off a character without sqeezing all the juice out of them.  we've learned this with shane.  so, before t dog dies in s3.. you're going to love him!

No, plenty of people have thought about it. It's been speculatded that he is Tyreese's replacement for awhile now.

We do not really know if that is the producers intention though, seeing as TDog has been very underused and has had no storyline since the one with Merle in season 1.

Apparently they have big plans for TDog for season 3 though, so maybe we'll see him transform into more of a Tyreese type character.

I don't see T Dog transforming into anything like Tyreese unless he had the daughter and boyfriend situation. That's a big part of his character in my opinion. Also I don't really see T Dog getting into any big fights with Rick

well look they cant add everything from the comics to the show i doubt they have 2 little girls murdered in the prison and they already know they are all infected so they dont need tyreeses daughter and her bf to prove it. for the show tyreeses girl and bf are unnecessary. i believe theyll have that random group they encountered in town turn into woodbury as rick and t-dog have Authority issues that they hint at in the very last episode of season 2 during the prison setup, theyll play t-dog as tyreese since they found tyreese before wiltshire estates and the only reference to the estates are when andrea and shane are looking for sophia. thats my train of thought though well see

The spoiler above is a good point. It limits the need for Tyreese and makes me think T-Dog has one fewer obstacle to overcome in order to actually have three lines of dialogue this season.

I agree 100% that Tyreese isnt needed anymore. It is a great charachter in the comics but the finality of most of his original strorylines are already been shown on TV

His love affair and his "Woodbury adventure" is all what remains.
Since the begining i feel like Tyreese charachter has been splitted between TDog and Daryl.
TDog for his likeness of course (and that hammer in his hand during the zombies killing after Dale's funeral was adding to it) and Daryl for his badass attitude and being Carol's close friend.
So it wouldnt surprise me if Daryl was given the love affair thing and poor TDog the Woodbury greetings (Maybe thanks to good ol Merle).

To the OP's question, I am not sure about Merle and T-dog joining the comics or that those covers are representative of that, but as for Daryl, Kirkman has eluded to it and well, the crossbow in 102 is kind of an obvious point of discussion.

1. Tyreese is like the coolest character ever, hes a super badass, T-dog is a token black guy with no lines
2. Tyreese is one handsome motherfucker, T-dog looks like a total goober, not a good transition

Everyone keep talking about Merle being the super hero os racist , if i remember correct merle kicked t-dog ass and made some comments in the building but why he didnt do it before that ? Or did something to jacky ? Merle was in like 2-3 episodes and barely sais something...... At these point nobody really knows the REAL Merle
