Ok, now that #80 has dropped, and is first in the No Way Out story arc, I'm wondering if it's time we organize the comic book threads a bit more.

So would you guys like

Sub-Categories by Story Arc?

Sub-Categories by Volume? (Which I think is the same thing)

Sub-Categories by Year?  (Dumb, but still a possibility)

Please give some input

I would go by Story Arc but try to have as much info as possible.

Like for the first story arc the sub-forum could be called:

Volume 1 - Days Gone By (Issues 1 - 6)

Follow by:

Volume 2 - Miles Between Us (Issues 7 - 12)
Volume 3 - Safety Behind Bars (Issues 13 - 18)
Volume 4 - The Heart's Desire (Issues 19 - 24)

and so on ... that way there is no confusion when looking at the categories.

I think Volume would be best, not all issues fit neatly into a story arc. The only real "official" story arcs I can remember off the top of my head are "fear the hunters" and "no way out"

There isn't a lot of activity on these boards, I think just a general 'TWD comics' is fine.

Volume would be cool, but the mods might have to spend time moving posts to the correct section. Now to recruit more fans....

I tend to think it would get confusing if it was too split up. Plus a discussion might carry over into several areas. For example, if I wanted to talk about Carl's evolution where does it go? I think it's fine the way it is. Just MHO.

True, the activity has boiled down some, and many fans have a whole bunch of places to congregate, but we're working on creating the right atmosphere so that when fans start coming back, especially when Season 2 drops, then it might be a good idea to have those different subforums.

Or not.  Just asking for suggestions.

Maybe a section to compare tv and comic. The question about Carl's evolution got me thinking....if I wanted to discuss his evolution in the comic vs. his evolution in the series, where would I post it? Not everyone on the forum subscribes to both the show and comic.

Good question. I'd probably go for the comic section since his development is much deeper there. Of course you could throw in some tid bits from the show as well. We're cool like that. The forum is split for convenience not to make people crazy :D

Is there a thread for giving general critiques on the entire first season?

I think that would be interesting to have two sub-categories:
One for people who are going thru the series, meaning that no spoilers are allowed,
And one for who is up to date with the comic, so everyone else doesn't need to use those annoyng spoilers tags.

Great idea, Sasquatch, especially since I haven't read the comics and probably won't get around to it.

Not really, but since this a community forum, your more than welcome to start one. ;)

I understand the sentiment, but I don't think we'll be doing this.  I can see a BUNCH of confusion on this, not knowing where to go for information, or to start a thread about a subject - the one for spoilers or the one without spoilers...

But we're evolving.

Based on what others have said it got me thinking that if you do split it up (see my first post in this thread) then there should be a "General" section since some things will be questions that cover multiple issues or things relating to the series as a whole and therefore might not fit into a particular sub forum if the sub forums are divided up by story arc / issues / volumes etc.

And what about a sticky thread of the most recent edition?
It would keep most of the reviews and comments of each edition in one place and alert everyone of its release.

Im thinking by volume would be a good start.

I'm just really starting to venture into this part of the forum. Was a decision reached? I know I would prefer to have the threads organized by volume, so I would know exactly what threads to avoid, since I am not caught up, at this point. I would know to avoid general threads, based on the title, I would think. Basically, I would probably avoid it, unless I knew for certain if I was beyond that story arc, or the character mentioned was dead. Also, I think all comparison threads between the show and the comic should be in the comic section... just my (probably too late) opinion. ^_^
