I just watched the pilot again, and I was really struck by Rick's total lack of caution. I guess he's learned to be careful since then. As he walked up to the farmhouse where he found the "God Forgive Us" couple, he's calling out to see if anyone is there, and I'm sitting on my couch, going "Dude, shhh, be quiet!"
I was also struck by Morgan's walker wife. She must be the prettiest walker ever. Watching the scene where Morgan couldn't shoot her was really touching.

Not to mention walking around that hospital in his bare feet with all that broken glass and debris around. Ouch!

The fact that he idiotically approached the car that just flipped over without first taking cover and demanding that if anyone's inside come out with your hands up always baffled me... seriously, he deserved to get shot after that.

I have always thought the same thing. He was standing right out in the open, practically begging to get shot! If it weren't so rude to slap a man in a coma, someone should have done just that!

Way back in the day I did the Barney Fife gig for a couple of years. You would not believe some of the absolutely moronic things I saw my fellow officers do. There's kind of a pecking order in police work. The smaller the department is the smaller the budget is. This means less money for training and salaries, so the quality of some of the police work is not always that good. Sad but true.

I think they were told that there was only two suspects in the car. At least that's what Shane told Lori when he told her that Rick had been shot.
