A spin on Desert Island Discs, for those who are unfamiliar with the idea of Desert Island Discs here's a description and wiki link:

Link

Originally devised and presented by Roy Plomley,  each week a guest ("castaway") is asked to choose eight pieces of  music, a book and a luxury item for their imaginary stay on the island,  while discussing their lives and the reasons for their choices.

However, lets make the setting the ZA and you are going to a safe place and you have to choose the following (we'll change the categories a bit):

  • 2 pieces of music (make you think a bit harder)
  • A film
  • A book
  • A type of food (limited, not endless supply)
  • A type of drink  (same as food-type)
  • A luxury item (must be inanimate and can't help you against zombies, more like a creature comfort, something you couldn't do without.)
Intended just for fun, no need to wonder how or why you brought this stuff or if it makes sense / is practical or how you could use them. Add a reason why if you want to.

As an example here are my choices:

  • Music: Comfortably Numb - Pink Floyd and 3 Libras - A Perfect Circle
  • Film: The Muppets Christmas Carol (Strange one I know, especially being 21, but it's like a ritual to watch it every year at Christmas as a family and is one of the few that I wouldn't get sick of watching.)
  • Book: Les Miserables - Victor Hugo (A long read and I love the story)
  • Food: Jaffa Cakes (Om nom nom, need I say more?)
  • Drink: Irn Bru (addicted to the stuff)
  • Luxury Item: Piano or atleast a keyboard (may actually get to fully learn to play the damn thing haha)

"I may not have what it takes to last for long, but that's okay. 'Cause  at least I can say when the world goes to s**t, I didn't let it take me  down with it." - Dale Hovarth.

  • LocationNorth of the Wall. Seriously. I am 200 yards from it.
  • 2 pieces of music (make you think a bit harder) - Radiohead OK Computer and Craig Armstrong The Space Between us. The late '90s obviously meant something...
  • A film - The Princess Bride - it's feelgood and everything you need from a movie
  • A book - Snow Crash - Neal Stephenson
  • A type of food (limited, not endless supply) - A Bento Box with Tempura vegetables, Miso soup, chicken in teriyaki and some pork and vegetable gyoza
  • A type of drink (same as food-type) - Grey Goose vodka
  • A luxury item (must be inanimate and can't help you against zombies, more like a creature comfort, something you couldn't do without.) My massager.

HA! Okay, that was just to be funny.

In actuality, it would be a toss up between my chapstick, a straw (I can't drink a drink without one), or my fan (I can't sleep without the noise). I may have some OCD's. But I couldn't decide. I would probably have to draw straws.

  • 2 pieces of music (make you think a bit harder): Bohemian Rhapsody (a little something for every mood) and Yo-Yo Ma's rendition of Bach's Solo Cello No.1 in G Major.
  • A film: Jaws - for some reason every time it is on TV I cannot turn away.
  • A book: The Lord of the Rings complete set - the apocalypse would force me to finally finish the damn thing.
  • A type of food (limited, not endless supply): cheese and crackers
  • A type of drink  (same as food-type): Unsweet iced tea
  • A  luxury item (must be inanimate and can't help you against zombies, more  like a creature comfort, something you couldn't do without.): One of those portable temperature control/ac units.

Music: Comfortably Numb - Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin

Film: Blazing Saddles (you would def need some laughs)

Book:  World War Z (I haven't read it yet and it should come in handy)

Food: still thinking on this one

Drink: My morning Latte, I'll be realistic though and say coffee. This may be the most important, it would be hard to run from Z's with a raging headache and being really lethargic from caffeine withdrawal

Luxury Item: Since it has to be inanimate, I can't say Norman Reedus so I'll say my BOB

Kat - Queen.. Nice Music Choice. I never got tired of that one.

Serenity - I hope I'm not the only one who knows what a BOB is. LMAO You could have said a "Lifesize Daryl Dixon Action Figure". I'm still waiting for my Shane Walsh one. Husband probably intercepted it. :(
