I always had my suspicions about their bonding and how Shane was ready to always sacrifise himself for Carl well sometimes other people like Otis .But the flashback episode where Lori seemed troubled about her marriage before the ZA made me wonder that Lori and Shane might have had an affair before..

No way...but carl has learned a lot from shane & is acting a lot like him...and not acting how his father would act.

Posted Image I just want people to formulate a basis for their theory before sharing it. Because a lot of the theories thrown out there have basically no evidence to back it up. They are just crazy ideas people cook up in their mind. I can't tell you how many times since I've joined this forum, that I've looked at the computer screen in pure confusion from the theories thrown out there.

For a reasonable fee, I will quell minor outbreaks, enforce quarantines, and dispatch infected relatives.

Im sure the writers would come up with a crazy theory if they really wanted to even come up with a shane dad carl son story line away. Now the scenario for the next 7 months : crazy theories, subjects beaten to death about 500 hundred times to only reanimate themselves back  again, news snippets about the series and whats going on presently with the actors. But hopefully the webisodes before October.

I don't think he is but it wouldn't be THAT crazy of a theory. It could be justified by the fact we knew Rick and Lori were having marriage problems (for how long we dont know though), how quickly she turned to Shane for comfort, how crazy Shane was about her and Carl and her reaction to his death by Rick's hands. Its very circumstantial and could be easily argued against but still, not that far out there.

It would make for a very interesting plot twist.

actually more i think of it.it would be a shocking twist as some of the elements are there if they decided to take the story that way..

Exactly. Then you have a new twist on how Carl views Rick vice-versa and their relationship from here on out. However, I'm sensing by the way they ended season 2 with Ricktatorship that both Lori and Carl's relationship with Rick will already be strained. I feel like he will be isolated a bit as a leader everyone respects but is nervous/wary of. Therefore they may not need the extra drama Carl being Shane's son would add on to their relationships and the show, especially with all the events we know is about to go down in S3, might be overkill.

Here's my idea on theories, The forum charges $5 deposit per theory and refunds $10 if it turns out correct. If wrong the $5 is forfeit.

By the time the new season starts the forum will have made enough money to fly us all to Atlanta for a season premier party. This will be a nice treat for those members who have bankrupted by submitting ridiculous theories.

It's gonna be great.

Affair could be possible but I do full heartily believe Carl is Rick's son. Carl just felt he lost his father and turned to Shane for guidance, learned leadership from Shane and then now he has his father back. Carl is just trying to learn how to survive and make  his dad proud. Any child in that world who wants to live up to his father's legacy would act like Carl in my opinion.

With Shane dead... the question becomes moot.
Shane might've been the sperm donor but Rick definitely was/is the FATHER... it's who raises the child that earns that definition not the one who does his part to make the child.

Did Carl go back in time to try to stop the ZA before it started and have a fling with Rick's mom?  I love time travel.

Beware, I am emoticon-impaired.

Rick is John Connor, basically.  The Z's were sending back zombies to try and murder him and -- well, I won't bore you with the details, but it was the only way.  It was THE ONLY WAY.
