Oh boy. This is pure evidence of the fact that everyone looks to be offended by something. He clearly said it affectionately. The same as in the CDC where he said keep drinking I want to see how red your face gets. Glenn laughed.
Daryl is not supposed to be a politically correct character anyway. Look at his brother calling T-Dog a ni**er

It is very difficult to describe the bond that develops between a diverse group of people who are working together in a stressful or dangerous environment to someone who has never experienced such a thing.
As the group bonds stereotypes loose all meaning. Any means of humor to relieve the stress is used. I have seen racial and gender slurs thrown about with abandon, because everyone in the group respects each other and knows there is no malice intended.
Should someone from outside the group make such a statement they will receive a hostile reaction from all members of the group. As I said, it's hard to explain without having actually seen such a situation.

I have thick skin and find it hard opening my heart to a group just to be hurt in ways I would never let any ordinary person or people get a way with. I don't complain much. A good idea is a group must have a person or council put anyone getting out of line in check.

It was a joke, and Glenn has shown himself to be a great driver. XD Remember when he was in that sports car driving the Walkers away with the siren? He handled it like a stunt driver.
Daryl started out as a kind of chip of his brother's block, really emulating the man and following his world views. As the series has progressed he has come into his own and had become a far more respectable man. It almost feels like his racist jabs are aimed more at himself than the others in his group, which makes it really likeable as long as you're not looking to be offended.

was it really necessary for Deryle to bust the "Asian Driver" joke on Glenn? I mean did they thought it was funny? It might have been funny if the show actually had a bad Asian driver. But c'mon a stereotypical joke like that with no purpose but to insult was very ignorant of the producers. This is in fact one of the most stereotypical tv show as of late
You do realise Daryl cracked the joke to be sarcastic ? He wasn't commenting on Glenn's driving in a way. He was basically trying to lighten the mood.
Also don't get your knickers in a twist about a "racist" joke, It wasn't actually meant to offend, It in a way was mocking the stereotype portrayal.

That's Daryl's character. He's a redneck. Merle made numerous racist comments in the short amount of time we saw him that put Daryl's little asian joke to shame. Now, if your arguments was that they were making the stereotype that Rednecks all make racist comments, then that would be a different story.

Remember the Monty Python skits where a policeman would appear on stage and stop the skit for being "totally stupid." I think we need that policeman.

Dosnt really matter just thought Id point it out to anyone reading your b!goted comments, but didnt pick up on the hateful agenda admitted by your handle.

Ummm... you misread his handle, therefore concluding it was a coded racial slur, and when it was pointed out that you were reading it wrong you accused him of lacking the courage of his convictions for not saying something that he never intended to say in the first place?
It's like a dyslexic preacher complaining that his neighbor's sign saying "Beware of Dog" is an expression of his neighbor's religious bigotry.trying to warn people away from God. When it's pointed out he's reading it wrong, he says "See, he doesn't even have the courage to be an honest atheist.."
