Same tread as the first season. Hot season opener, things sliding down a bit in the middle and then sparking at the end. Be interesting to see what season 3's opening rating will be. But I definitely think based on this, I'll say we're getting a confirmed season 4 a few episodes into season 3.

Thanks for posting that information.  I'm pretty new to the forum here, but I think I recall that TWD suffered some budget cuts going into Season 2.  Maybe the strong ratings (I saw a few articles saying it was the #1 basic cable drama) will allow them to restore at least some of the budget for Season 3 & beyond?

I think Season 3 is 16 episodes, or was that article I read before wrong?

Anywho I never expected the number to be that high that's amazing !! Here's hoping AMC increases the budget and gives the show the love it deserves.

I've heard for some reason they are cutting TWD money to keep Mad Men well funded.  Really?  You score THIS BIG on a series and you want to squander cash for something else?  Don't get me wrong Mad Men has a following and is a fine show in its own right, but they had better nurture this series financially or it will go bad quick.  Like stretching the farm out as long as they did.  Dead obvious attempt to make use of that set as long as possible.  Or the fact you barely saw a Zombie for multiple episodes.  Another dead giveaway that they were trying to spend as little money as they could.  The next part of the story will require some serious budget to come off right.  Don't @#$%Q out on us AMC, do it right!

Like how the ratings for 18 Miles Out jumped up a bit since everyone wanted to see Rick and Shane duke it out.

I'd expect season 3's premier to be the highest yet, to be honest.

"How are they going to handle Michonne? What's her character going to be like?"
"The prison! I can't wait to see how they get there. Will there be walkers inside the compound? Will there be inmates? Will they even make it to the prison in the premier?"
"The Governor! Will he be in the premier?" (talking as a fanboy/girl who isn't as knowledgeable as your or me)
"Woodberry? The group Randall talked about? What about them?"
"What about Andrea?"
"How's Rick going to be now that he's a Ricktator? What's his relationship like with Lori, Carl, and the rest of the group now that they know he killed Shane?"

Just a few questions casual and even knowledgeable fans have to be asking themselves going into season 3.

Makes me want to stop watching Mad Men altogether.  I like TWD much better.  They should spend their $$$$ there.

I was going to merge them with the full season info but we got that covered. But thanks for getting the finale's rating up. Nearly 9 million? And we added nearly 3 million from last season's finale? Crazy.

Agreed! Not only have they taken the money, but now they are trying to use TWD's fanbase to improve their ratings. Those stupid commercials are ridiculous. But hey... that's advertising for ya.

Yeah, I won't be watching Mad Men and those commercials did nothing for me. Bottom line is we're nearly tripling their ratings and that of Breaking Bad. AMC needs to recognize which show is it's force and it isn't the other two.

Mad men has never interested me in the least hell on wheels was good and deserves money to. That's just how it works like with comic book men, that's a terribly boring show so they shoved it in between runs to pump up the ratings, which is why I make sure to turn off my tv to that show and any I dislike rather then just leaving the tv on

I'd actually love to watch Mad Men as well - any show with Christina Hendricks & January Jones in it has to be watchable.

However, I only have so many hours in the week where I can watch adult TV, and with Game of Thrones coming back on air soon, I won't have time for Mad Men.

I love madmen and everything but they really need to realize that TWD is more interesting and will draw more viewers.
Also the season finale was the first episode for many of my friends and they for the most part are really drawn into the series and a few are going back to watch Season one.

We're and what are these ratings taken from. Does this include download and DVD purchases n all that. Also the show has only just started in Australia so will those views be counted or added to the season one eps.

Personally, I'd rather see them give our money to Breaking Bad. That's probably the best show I've ever seen.

I am a big fan of BB. I didn't know they needed money. Low cost production is a major plus for a show like that.

I can't wait for the new season but you have to wonder how long Walter can keep dancing. This has always been a show that couldn't end well.

Sooner or later with the emphasis on sooner Walter has to die from the cancer, go to prison, or be offed by the Cartel. I know the writer are creative but how in the heck could it run much longer?

Naw, I was kidding about the funds. I think the shows ratings haven't been what they expected. But regardless, it's been a helluva a run. Personally, I think Jesse should give up Walter to Hank. Just seems right considering Walt has abused his little buddy.

I've never seen Mad Men. I just needed some kind of executive joy exhibition imagery and didn't want to go too far with it so I went with them doing their furniture.
