So assuming zombies are dead an cannot maintain a temperature, would they not freeze solid in a typical saskatchewan winter?

prolly..or any other place like Montana where it gets and sustains freezing temps..assuming they have no metabolism. But we have not seen them rot to pieces and fall apart either and it gets hot in the South in the summer..by now they should be Adipocere  (per wikipedia, also known as corpse, grave or mortuary wax, is a wax-like organic substance formed by the anaerobic bacterial hydrolysis of fat in tissue, such as body fat in corpses. In its formation, putrefaction is replaced by a permanent firm cast of fatty tissues, internal organs and the face) or just walking bones, if the bones can walk.  Apparently the reanimation does all sorts of things we dont know and Jenner didnt pass on to the normal workings of the formerly human body

I assume walkers are on the same level as insects or reptiles.  The critter would become dormant, hibernate, or slow down for sure.  In other zombie lore they may freeze and die.  It also appears that in TWD walkers don't really need a blood system.  In the comic book they appear to hibernate but can awaken.  Can't say how they will act in Season 3 when the weather cools.  If S3 continues in Georgia it won't be that cold, at least not like here in PA.

In most of the scenarios I have read, they freeze in the winter then thaw and become active again in the spring. I have never read or seen anything where the cold "kills" them

Exactly my purpose behind asking.. We have -20 to -40 temperatures for almost 6 months out of the year. It would be a great time to take advantage of the zombie Popsicles littering the country side and destroy their brains.
