Too many great scenes to chose from, but the one that
sorta made my heart stop was when Rick was on horseback
entering Atlanta. He's riding down a fairly deserted street
then turns a corner and there they were, hundreds of zombies.
It was at that moment the unpredictability, the insurmountable
odds of him surviving really struck me. Every thing that took
place from there on with the tank, Glenn saving his life,
putting the gun to Daryl's head which defined his place in the group
was outstanding.
Least favorite was some of the Andrea/Amy stuff. Picking out the necklace,
wrap for the necklace, the boat scene. Just seemed a lot of camera
time dedicated to building the relationship between those two characters.
Just seemed they did a better job with the Daryl/Merle brother
relationship without the tedious scenes.

Favorite moment was Duane in the shower. Something about a little black boy in a hot steamy shower just does it for me. I'm hoping for Daryl next, yum!
But no, really. Only joking about Duane.
..Moving on, my favorite moment had to be when they left Jim at the tree. It was such an emotional moment and I felt so connected, like I was losing someone I had actually known. I was in tears. It was very very powerful.
The moment I hated most was when Rick blew up the glass window with that grenade.. Seriously? A *perfect* square, and none of the other windows were even cracked? I call BS!

...And you got mad at me for not using a spoiler tag for mentioning "the same zombie attack happens in the comics too" without going into specifics and here you ruin 2 story lines, Jim & CDC escape. Nice to meet you Mr. Kettle....

Well let's see here, this is posted in the "The Walking Dead TV" section, so let's post one big spoiler tag for anyone who hasn't seen the show. That's fairly obvious *eyeroll*
If you didn't see season one, you probably shouldn't have been looking at this post to begin with.
Mr. Kettle? Not even making sense now. Besides I'm female anywhom.
I think you're being overly sensitive because I said you should have used a spoiler tag. It's really not that big of a deal.

1. how is Rick Grimes character being recast a spoiler?
2. where are you getting that information? last I've heard all the principal cast have signed on for multiple seasons.

If Ricks character was recast next season, they may have lost a fan. I really loved his acting, and he seemed just to play the perfect role, IMO. I think it just won't have the same 'touch' without him.

My favorite was the very first scene. At the gas station Rick pulls out the python and blows the little girls brains out. It stood out to me because right then my main question/concern was answered, the show was not going to be pulling punches because it was on TV, something that worried me. Now I know they really can't translate the medium between comic and film totally, some panels and subject matter will always be too hardcore and some scenarios just won't be able to overcome the binding and limitations of live action, but at least they're blowing little girl zombies brains out.
But aside from that, my favorite moment is actually a moment that didn't happen. Me and so many others thought a certain main character was gonna be off'ed, and not by zombies, in the conclusion of season 1. Keeping this main character, a significant deviation away from the comic, has and I imagine will really push a great internal conflict in the story of the current group.
Also Merle..... perfect set up for Woodbury down the line. What's got me wondering is of what role Daryl will have in that future drama when it arises, there is some great potential in that.

Favorite 1. Shane Beating up Ed. It Was So Graphic.
Favorite 2. When Daryl and Glen first encountered the Vatos and Daryl shot that dude in the butt with his crosssbow.
Worst: The begging of episode 2 when Shane is banging Lori in the woods and the turns her over to hit it doggy style.

Daryl pulling a spent arrow from a zombies head, because it doesn't have to do with any soap opera bs, or any other weak lame writing. Its just the victory of human intelligence over the zombie the horde. That we will survive, we won't cry, we won't piss our pants, curl up into a fetal position and just give up, that some of us will FIGHT, and that gives us hope for the future.
PS To hell with Jenner, maybe if he had got off his lazy ass and gotten fuel, or worked on the computer system, other then just feel sorry for himself, maybe his death may have meant something. I am sure his wife, thought he was a total pussy. No heaven or Valhalla for him!

One of my favorite moments was when Shane was pointing the gun at Rick but then Dale saw him so then Shane tried to play it off and Dale gave him that look. I thought that was hilarious!
I didn't like the part in the sixth episode when they blew that window out with the grenade. The explosion was just too perfect.

Favorite part is when Rick shoots his buddy through the fence when he and Morgan are leaving the sheriff's office.
Worst part is Amy and her sister fishing. As easy as they are on the eyes, it was boring.
Most difficult to watch: the opening sequence when Rick has to shoot the little girl.

Best Moment: I got a bunch but I'll narrow it down to two.
Amy's reanimation. I really like how they showed this. Not even talking about the emotion and all that Hallmark. I mean how her body twitched, her eyes slowly fluttered open, she reaches out with an unsure hand to touch Andrea....and then the hunger hits and her hand wraps around Andrea's hair and starts to pull her in for chompin'. This makes sense to me. A slow, confused reanimation. Rather than JUMP UP HEY I"M A ZOMBIE!!!!
Morgan drawing the bead on his wife but not being able to pull the trigger.
When Rick first encounters the horde in Atlanta. Whooops. I guess that's three
Worst moment: I wasn't thrilled with how the CDC was handled. If I had my way they wouldn't have gone there at all. BUT if they must I would have liked to have seen it done differently.

I agree with these, though I liked the emotion in the Andrea/Amy scene, as well. I loved the Morgan scene at the end of Ep.1 - I hope he returns.
As far as the CDC goes, I don't mind that they went there - it only makes sense that they would, and it let people know that we weren't going to get any answers, but it was just handled all wrong. I didn't care for the futuristic CDC, or the explosion (or Carol having the grenade in her purse for that matter).

Least Favored: Tough to decide. Maybe when Shane has sex with Lori and he basically asks her to remove her wedding ring. What a douche bag.
Shane does not 'ask' Lori to remove the ring - they both stop what they are doing when they notice the ring because it's like Rick is *right* there all of a sudden. IMO, Shane wouldn't have stopped Lori if she had said, "I just can't", or something to that effect, and had gotten up and put her shirt back on. Either way, Lori made the choice to take the ring off for a little while and lay it gently aside...

Anything with Merle that guys a hoot to watch, and despite everyone's protest to him being a racist it's been my experience that most people are in fact racist he just doesn't hide the fact.
I find it refreshing that a TV show of all formats is not shying away from this unspoken reality.
I am a French Canadian Meti Indian living in Ont LOL so ya I know veiled racism

@ZombieRicketts You make some good points, but why trap everyone else with him and endanger them without at least talking it over first? Like "Hey, all the power will go out tomorrow and this place will blow up. We're all going to die soon anyway, so might as well stay here and have it be over quickly and painlessly, right?" You know? Why not tell them and give them the choice? For drama, that's why. And I don't like it when people in shows don't act like normal people just for the sake of raising the stakes and creating more tension and drama.
To be fair, Lost had a lot of that kind of thing, and I still think it was a great show (up until the end). I guess it would be boring if the show didn't have any tension or drama. In a perfect world, the writers would figure out how to create that in a more natural way that actually makes sense.

Originally Jenner didn't want to let them in. Rick was yelling "you're killing us" and similar phrases, implying that if they weren't let in, they faced certain death anyhow. Jenner knew there was no hope inside the CDC, but perhaps thought he'd offer them a comfortable last day or so, rather than their fate outside.

That was wonderful acting!!!! When Rick saw Shane... then saw his boy. He kind of laughed/pointed at Carl and you could tell what was going through his mind. And it was believable! That was one of my favorite scenes of the season. My second was when Morgans wife was trying to get into the house, it's was like she knew she belonged there but was't sure why she wasn't there. I won't lie, it made me think that there was still some part of the zombies that were "alive", because besides the retention of fine motor skills, Morgans wife seemed to have a sense "of awareness" when it came to the house.

This is definitively one of the best parts because you could see it in Rick's eyes that life was finally complete. Like no matter what, he would still have his son.
But I would say my favorite funny part was when the girls were all washing stuff and talking about what they miss most and Andrea says her vibrator and all the girls start to confess. Me and my best friend were cracking up!

Too many good moments to list. I like some of the more subtle "attention to detail" moments ... they add to the realism. An example would be the echo of the shot fired inside the tank. A lot of writers would overlook that.

Most of my favorite moments have already been listed...
I loved the scene where Morgan couldn't shoot his wife. He is such a good actor, he had me tearing up..
I loved "Tell it to the Frogs", back when Shane wasn't so "Angry" and him, Lori and Carl were talking about Frog Legs. Also when he beat Ed near death. Oh, and when Carol said she also missed her vibrator.. that was pretty funny.
The scene I liked the least would probably be The Vatos. Except for the cute spanish Grandma. Adorable.

Favourite moment(s): When Rick gets in the tank, relaxes then the soldier turns his head to look at him, and he quickly shoots him, it was quality.
Shane beating Ed up was well handled and satisfying, even if he was doing it because he was angry and not because he was a wife beater (Shane knew, ignored it).
The family reunion was good.
Worst moment: By a country mile, when Rick puts his gun to his head whilst under the tank and surrounded by walkers and says something like "Lori (and/or) Carl, forgive me" then 'sees' the hatch to climb into the tank.
That bit had me groaning.
