Fr: SSG Chalmers
Re: Documents
Date: Jun 17th, 1 AO

Sir,
During our last pickup run in Sector C (California Coastline), our platoon walked right into an ambush. As I'm sure you've heard by now, we lost a lot of men but we also found something that we think will be of great importance to the ongoing epidemic.
After clearing the "wait zone" where we grounded the watercraft we did the usual decontamination of the area and body burning and so on. No survivors this time around... but we found one body of particular interest. The guy was a mess. Like most, he was devoured so finding a cause of death was near impossible. His left arm was severed at the elbow and the forearm was partially eaten but the hand clutched a book unlike anything we've seen since the beginning.
We're transcribing the handwritten text and will be sending them via this format to you as they are completed.
Sir, some of things going on out there.... It can only be described as horrific.... This man has been through hell. I can't believe he made it all the way here from the east. And the things he's learned about the Z's along the way are crucial to our mission. I only fear that once the Z's are under control we have a whole other fight on our hands.

Be well.

Col. Lang, Alaska

The precise nature of the highly classified effort isn't clear, and the agency won't comment on its substance.

According to current government officials, the agency spent money on planning and possibly some training. It was acting on a legal pronouncement, known as a finding, which authorized SSG Chalmers to pursue such efforts. The initiative hadn't become fully operational at the time SSG Chalmers ended it.

The revelations about SSG Chalmers and activities have emerged amid a letter released that talked about the effort which the agency said SSG Chalmers acknowledged hadn't been properly vetted with the agency. The agency brought the matter to SSG Chalmers attention and recommends an investigation of how SSG Chalmers continues to bedevil the agency.

HAH! You OWN military speak!!! Obviously, I fail at military stuff but I really just wanted to illustrate that our main character is more than likely deceased and that he made a complete cross-country trip in this TWD universe. Essentially, we'll see all the crap he has gone through to get to the point of escape and how he fell short at the very conclusion of his journey... a tragedy on top of a tragedy. This will also be a more psychological drama than one of action, though there will be plenty of him recounting his tails of Z encounters (and human strife, violence, etc.). I dunno... I've never written anything before so this all new to me. DeadCave kind of inspired to try my hand here (hence the nod to his John Handle character in the first entry). I sincerely hope my lack of procedure doesn't turn any of you off right at the onset. We won't be hearing anything from Chalmers anymore anyway... at least until the conclusion???

Interesting concept. Look forward to the rest!

I love all the fan fiction here. Like the nod to DC for his inspiration.

Anarchist, if i had to pick the real pro on military speak, it would definitely BeardedOne, if you haven't read any of his writings try them out. His series is titled The testament of SSG Blessing and in MHO very good

Remember, when you're in a shopping mall that's overrun by zombies, an outdoor patio umbrella can save your life.
