DC, i get the impression from reading your writings, that you could write outside the horror genre.  Mystery story perhaps, you have a great sense for character development, and writing action scenes, and also a sense of mystery about what is going to happen next or which way the story will turn.

I appreciate that. I do have other genres that I want to delve into. Haven't read enough "Mystery" to actually know enough to write it. Read a lot of Dean Koonz so maybe that's close enough.
Another story idea I have is a retired veterinarian who lives out in the deep woods at her grandfather's cabin and has dealings with Sasquatches.
Dunno if that falls into horror or fantasy or sci-fi or drama... just have to see how it plays out.

I've been also attempting (adapted) screen plays but damn that's hard, because the rule of thumb is one page equals to one minute of screen time and so to write out a 120 page script (2 hour movie) ...

Likewise wanting to write out a cave adventure... no scary monsters waiting in the shadows or the emergence of a new civilization, just an honest little cave adventure with some cave-related danger tossed in.

For now I think I just want to focus on getting published first and establishing a toe-hold in the industry.
