The trailer has been released by AMC. All of us are waiting its grand release on 31st October 2010. But the famous TV and movie magazine "Entertainment Weekly" describes "The Walking Dead" as mind blowing and recommended not to see it alone. I think this is excessive hype and over enthusiasm writing.
Don't Watch "The Walking Dead" alone, Says Entertainment Weekly!

and how is that a bad thing??
You can't really judge a tv show on one episode, it takes a few... with new shows/ movies theirs always hype... but it's up to you weather to believe it... When it comes to movies or shows i usually go in open minded.. it saves me from being disappointed later on from expecting too much from the show/ movie...
Plus the hype is a good thing for the show.. the more followers the more seasons ;)...

ya sounds like a bit of hype, but it's always fun to do things with friends... especially hot friends that are easily scared. ;)

That kind of quote worries me that they've played up the AAAAAHHHH ZOMBIE angle more than the much more satisfying human drama angle.

Well I think they'd have to do that the first couple of episodes at least, to get the viewers. Of course it WILL need the satisfying human drama angle & I'm sure it will come.

from the looks of the trailer, and knowing the story, I think we'll get both right off the bat.

I think the warnings not to watch it alone are hype, of course... I've never actually been "scared" by a show in my life...
But I don't think I've ever looked forward to anything like this before. I've become a huge fan of a show or two in the past... Firefly in particular (if anyone else was at D*C, you may have seen me either dressed up as Captain Reynolds or as an Independent Soldier marching during the D*C Parade), but that happened after the show was past tense.
I'm seriously looking forward to this before it's aired, which is new to me... the panels I've sat through at ComicCon and D*C have succeeded in getting me hooked sight unseen. It really looks like they're doing it right.
Well, the fact that I've been reading the comics since day one has helped, of course... but I say, let the hype continue! The more muggles we get to watch, the better our odds of having this show around for years to come...

Preach it! We need more great series like these to be developed.
Imagine an Invincible series or movie.

I usually just stream from surfthechannel.com and download the torrent but if I think for this I'll make an exception. Especially since it's out on halloween; head over to my friends place to watch it. It'll be sweet.

Firefly was unreal... i only watch it sometime last year and i dnt see why it was canceled.. it beats half of the shows on air now...
They should make more shows like this.. ppl like supernatural and horror series ... tbh i'm sick of all these csi's and law & order type shows..

You guys should watch Supernatural on CW. SOOOO GOOD. Just about the only good thing on that network imho. Some genuinely scary episodes in there along with a lot of really fun apocalypse and monster-hunting story arcs. Seasons 3-5 are my favorite run of any TV show.
And yes, Firefly was cruelly cancelled too early.
