First one here! Well, Talking Dead, Scott Gimple just said that Rick Grimes didn’t die, just a new story for him in AMC Walking Dead feature films. What he described sounded pretty cool, characters dead and gone are coming back in past, present, future works.

I enjoyed the show, I was heartbroken watching Daryl, his face said it all. I liked how Negan looked like a Holocaust survivor, and totally turned tables on Maggie, again.

I know there will be some who will hate the show, hate the idea of movies, etc. I think it opens up a lot....I wonder if Fear will time jump into TWD universe. Hmmmmm....

Loved it. Can't even be mad about the fake out because the helicopter has been a trope for so long that it makes sense. Only thing that's disappointing is Sasha as the final dead character hallucination. Just doesn't make sense. They barely had interactions on the show. Also, no mentions of Lori or Carl is pretty stupid in general, although I knew they wouldn't be back for cameos.

Voted good.   It wasn't hard to imagine Rick's story "ending" like this.   So according to Gimple, it looks like  they will make the occasional AMC original movie here and there about Rick in the Walking Dead universe and of course they will bring him back for the final episode of the final season

On the whole, I'm liking this season better than any in a while.

The took some pretty crazy directions with the stories but I dunno... it's as if crazy  directions are maybe what the show needed.

Shield yourself from those not bound to you by steel, for they are the blind. Aid them when you can, but lose not sight of yourself.

Voted good.

I hate how this was done, I wouldn't like the characters thinking that Rick is dead, it is not fair to them.

I also don't like that the time jump was done instantly after, we don't even get to see what happens a few days after the great leader "died".

It was fun seeing Shane again, he still nailed the character and it was nice to remember the early days.

It will be hard to watch the series without Rick, but I will continue to support the show and hope for the best.

Not casting my vote yet as  I need more time to digest the episode, but  I didn't like the time jump at the end, they could of shown the characters mourning for at least a couple minutes. I also thought Judith using ricks gun was absolutely ridiculous - her wrists would snap like twigs, never-mind the perfect aim and the fact that she's out there alone.

Writing this now I'm realizing Rick being close enough to end up in the river yet not being affected by the blast is a big eye roll from me, but I'm glad he's alive.

(although it begs the question just who saved him) - I was thinking the helicopter would end up being the Commonwealth that people have mentioned and he would end up dying offscreen, but apparently they'll bring him back for WDU movies so unless they decided that the Alexandria peeps won't meet the commonwealth , I don't see how that will work.

That was a fantastic episode. This season really has energized the show imo.  When that bridge blew I was all "Hell yea!" in my mind. That's the way Rick Grimes goes out.

I think the ending should satisfy everyone. If you really hated he lived, well, then Rick died on the bridge and that's that. You won't see him again on the show most likely and you don't have to watch the movies.

If you were upset that they were killing him off you got lucky cause he's still alive and we'll see more of him.

Brilliant

Voted good.

Pretty much what I was expecting since every trailer for this season has pointed to this. The bridge scene was a little convenient but the visual of the burning walkers was amazing and saved it for me.

The acting from most has seemed to really step up this season.

Maggie's accent is still grating and unbelievable but her scene with Negan was pretty stellar.

Laughed out loud hearing the helicopter folks ask jadis if she had "prepared her A". I guess they don't do phrasing in TWD universe.

WHen Gimple was promoted to Walking Dead Overlord, we had no idea what they had in mind. I figured, wow he's in charge of a couple of tv series and some video games. Sounds like they are really going all the way. Movies, mini-series, etc. I'm excited. Hopefully the quality is good.

You have to wonder what the people that don't watch Talking Dead think of the ending. I'm sure they will hear about the expanding universe soon, but they had to be going to bed thinking, what the hell?

I agree with Drunktard a bit, in that I don't like that the other characters think Rick is dead when he really isn't.

One thing I am happy about is that episode totally felt like a season finale, but I only have to wait 7 days to see the next episode, not 6 months!!!

About Magna's group. So we're now about 10-12 years into the ZA. For small group like that to be scrambling to fight off walkers, and with no home base, 10-12 years in seems a bit far in for that to still be happening.

So now I have to wonder, what is so special about this group that everyone wants to infiltrate this group? Maybe going group to group? I would think by this time, a central government would have been established and the military might be up and running.

I vote that I don’t like Michonnes hair in the ‘future’, Carol’s hair, ‘meh’ not sure

Really enjoyed this episode! Loads of action, some great cameo appearances and it's now setup for the Whisperers.

I agree with the dead Rick posts. In 1.5 years he should have been able to get a message through, even if he couldn't actually get there himself

Brilliant end to the series for me, personally. I'd rather Rick just died, would have been better but as far as I am concerned he did as now he's gone the show is also dead.

I didn't catch the talking dead part. Will these supposed movies be shown at theaters or just be a 2 hour episode on AMC?

Though Rick may be gone. No reason to turn away. If you ask me Carol and other characters have carried this show now and then more than Rick.

Rick has put them in danger quite a few times not only that but never acted when he should have.

To me Rick was a very flawed character that rarely got the hint to change or how to be ahead of what's going on. Maggie took hilltop and turned it into a power house machine with food faster than anyone else. Not only that but her people are on top of it. Meanwhile ASZ is behind.

I loved it. Shane was great! Hershel was even better... Wish they would of had Poor Sweet Beth as a dream. but he did see her back... I liked the bridge blowing up. and loved to see baby Judith grow into a person.

I thought Carol kept it short because of it's a danger that a walker could grab it.. Or was that Maggie?

Well i expected an extremely cheesy episode, and extremely cheesy it was.

Still, i didn't mind watching it. I guess i have some fondness for episodes focused on an injured walking Rick (not the first time)

Once again, there is a scene that would be okay on the writting room, but isn't satisfying the way they shot it. There is an explosion from afar, and everyone assume Rick is dead and start crying. It could make sense they will believe it eventually, but i would expect that they first reaction would be to rush to the scene and see if he is OK or not.

Hyped by this very first scene of a sentient Judith. It was a long time coming, since the beginning of season 3... (i wish they went for a longer ellipse)

I have mixed feeling about this one.

I like Rick's exit, because it leaves things open in a believable way. We knew Jadis had to have a catch, or she was in trouble. Presumably she intended to fight since she kept playing with her gun. She couldn't do in Gabe and felt she was screwed. While her seeing Rick is a silly contrivance, it at least fulfills her helicopter scenario while leaving us with interesting potential. She and Rick are both gone, not dead, with a touched upon story full of mystery as to where and why they're gone. We know he's safe, but for some reason he doesn't come back. This means he can't leave. It's all there for that time in the future when Rick wants the paycheck or the show is ending. I liked Sasha's character but she isn't a good choice for a third cameo. Of course it obviously meant they couldn't get Carl, Lori, or Glenn. The Governor would have been interesting, but the wrong tone obviously. I would have brought back Shane for the third hallucination. The easy ratings win having cameos was a bit obvious, but on the whole didn't bother me. I was never a fan of Shane, but I loved the character for the story and the actor was brilliant. His cameo was perfect. The zombies not long before scaring off the horse or killing it, and then Rick, was dumb. He was passing out, so let the horse run far enough ahead that I wasn't constantly thinking how stupid the show was for trying to get me to accept that the horse was still there.

I hated the Maggie/Negan scene. JDM was excellent, and I do believe AMC desperately wants it to be true that Negan is pathetic, but Maggie should have gone the third option. Tried him, and then with the consent of the people executed him. She was too easily swayed by his meek demeanor. I know this was always the direction they wanted to go. They always wanted us to get from point A (Negan orgiastically murders Abe and Glenn) to point B (Negan is properly kept alive). The show never succeeded at this after trying multiple gambits. Until it finally takes the surrogate audience (Maggie) and forces her to agree with AMC's (and Kirkman's) idea. All this means is that Maggie no longer may serve as the voice of my opinion. I still think he should be gone.  Nevertheless, as I must accept this or stop watching, I commend JDM's performance. If I have to concede that he is on the mend, at least he can do his best to act it. I'm a long way from convincing yet.

There's no way they don't rush the bridge and the trajectory of bodies to find Rick. How fast did he wash downstream? How lucky is it that every walker around him received a brain trauma allowing him to live. It's a lot to ask, but I'll take it.

What I do believe- I think the show has a very good show runner in Angela Kang. This season is good. She makes contrivances acceptable and the dialog (Maggie vs. Michonne notwithstanding) much better. I always assumed Judith would take the role that being the sole remaining Grimes demands and it looks good.

Loved it, but questioned the end.

Being a sentimental old sod, I was glad that Rick survived, but also thought that going out in a flame of glory in the explosion would have been perfect.

I'm just not getting, but am sure that it will be explained, how and why 5 years later, the group have just accepted that Rick is gone and he hasn't tried to get back.

The cameos seemed to be "whoever they could get to come back", because story-wise, Sasha made no sense. Lori, Carl, or Glenn would've made more sense.
