Saw this link on FB, showing the scenes of when Carl got bit and what walker bit him. We never actually saw the bite happen, but close enough I guess. 

 

Also, the bite itself reminded me of Jim's bite, and if memory serves me right, it was in a very similar area of the abdomen. I know Gimple said this season would have a lot of throwbacks to the earlier days of the show, figured this was one more.

I know, it's such bullshit and so unrealistic. Also, how the hell can a zombie make a bite like that on the abdomen anyway? It bugged me when we saw Jim's bite in the same place and way in S1 too.

There are expert snake handlers that get bit every once in a while. No matter how skilled you are shit happens.

Expert snake handlers are probably smart enough to either remove the venom before they touch the snake or wear protective clothing.
