As you can see, behind that front zombie there's a zombie which has black in his eyes and they are not all white like all the other zombie eyes throughout the many volume covers:

That's pretty doubtful. The Whisperers were possibly thought of at that time (when Robert Kirkman was creating his "road map"), but the characters like Alpha (especially Beta) most likely weren't thought of until maybe a few months before All Out War's ending. That's most likely just a roamer that is bald at the top (like most) and has hair going down the side.

But that stare tho, it would be so like the Whisperers to blend into the background (behing the letters of something you've read). Who knows when they really created the idea.

 

Also think how meta it would be not to show Negans face on the cover but a vilian in the far future whithout even knowing.

Real cool find, whether its Beta or not, it does look a lot like him, and the pupils is really interesting

Still, I stick with to fact that that is NOT Beta. That cover was 2012, and it was the beginning of the Saviors, and Beta didn't appear until 2016. I highly doubt Charlie Adlard thought "Hey! While I draw these zombies that are random and have no value whatsoever, I'm going to add a guy that Robert will tell me to make 4 years later! GENIUS!"

 

If you've seen all of the Volume covers that Charlie makes, every "main" panel is either based off of an issue cover that is collected in that paperback or it's based off of an event in the interiors. That's why Negan and the other Saviors aren't shown, because they're based off of the issue covers, which are just showing their torsos and weapons.

Some zombies drawn in the book had pupils. In the Miles Behind Us arc, Rick and Tyreese are clearing out a house in Wiltshire Estates and two zombies have pupils, and there have been several other times where zombies have had pupils. When The Governor pulls out Martinez's head out of a bucket in Made to Suffer, he has eyes.

As you can see, that is NOT Beta. Good assumptions and it was really interesting to think that (I thought so too, but realistically, that's not possible) but you're incorrect.

well the title is a question itself. so nobody believes it's actually beta but the idea of thinking it is is cool. also it's the fact that some of these zombies will look alike. this one just happens to look like a new big bad is all.

i just give the person props for actually noticing it.
