You might not be too far off with this prediction based on the events of 147.

There's always the possibility that 1 or more covers are trolls, but lately they've been on point more often than not. And I had no idea what could happen (or this theory) up until they released 150 cover and I could piece em all together.
I mean, think about it. Rick's time IS coming. it's not a question of if, just WHEN. And ever since 127, Rick hasn't been the Rick we grew attached to. Hell, he hasn't even been RICK at all... Except, lately we've gotten a few glimpses that Rick's anger still resides in him, however deeply hidden it may be. Rick believes in his vision of the future so much that he has forced himself to act domesticated, just to continue to keep all the communities following his lead and behaving "civilly", because he believes that's the only way to achieve the future he envisions..
HOWEVER, as I said, his time IS coming. and Rick has been the foundation of TWD up until as of late. As much as Kirkman trolls us, I CANT BELIEVE he'd let Rick go out like a bitch... Nothing *Truly* shocking has happened since 100 when Glen met Lucille. I'm growing more positive that somehow Lydia will cause Andreas death after Rick trusted her, and also, Carl will be in Peril that he can't escape on his own.--Que Rick. He knows what the whisperers are capable of. When Rick learns about Andrea and/or A threat/danger to Carl, The old Rick WILL break free . Honestly, I believe it never actually died, only that Rick forced himself to Bury it deep down and keep it under control. But losing Andrea, especially after him just finally getting over Lori, it'll be just too much for him. BUT, even old brutal Rick isn't any match for the whisperers.. And he'll need all the help he can get. I think he will realize, there's only 1 person who has proven that he's just as brutal, and just as smart as Rick-Negan.. I'm guessing Rick Will ask for his help. and knowing Negan, hell probably tell Rick to go fucking fuck fuckity fuck himfuckingself, until he learns Carls in deep shit . Negan already looked at Carl like a son in a weird sort of way, then figure how much more attached/closer he feels to Carl after 2 years of Carl being the only friend/confidant he's had.
I think BIG BIG things are coming. I'm 99% sure Rick's death will happen within the next 15 or 20 issues, maybe less. I'm actually starting to think that when all is said & done, all well be left with is Carl & Negan...

I think you are on to something. Rick doesn't realize it yet since Maggie didn't tell him everything, but that redneck family at the Hilltop has/had a serious issue with Carl. Now with Tammy killed by the Whisperers, that hatred will be dangerous for Lydia, Carl, and Andrea. Carl has noticed for himself that 'the kind people that protect their own' aren't so great after all. I have a feeling that Rick might have said goodbye to Carl or Andrea for the last time, as I think Rick or Andrea are in danger of being killed off. Negan will end up playing a huge role in this, and I agree with you that Negan might be one of the handful of characters to survive when all the communities are destroyed.

Hello everyone,

What if in issue 149, Rick ultimately releases Negan from the cell in some agreement that if Rick grants Negan his freedom, he will return the favor by leading an attack on the Whisperers or something in that nature. So then in issue 150, the community reaches their boiling point after learning that Rick has released Negan and is convinced that Rick isn't the leader that they want and they are sick of dealing with him, so they "betray" him which results in Rick opening the can on someone to secure his leadership (This would be cool to see since it would resemble Alpha's actions in issue 148). Finally, in issue 151 we see Dwight leading an attack on Negan to kill him since he learns that he is free.

Most likely I am wrong but this idea just popped into my head today, so I decided to make an account to share it with you guys

I think the old school bad ass Rick that we all know and love will be making a comeback very soon. His leadership is being questioned and there are signs the society he's created are starting to crumble. He needs to do something drastic soon to win back the favor of all of his people or risk a mutiny.

The old school bad ass Rick is still there, but in his crippled body he is not going to be able to rely on physical force that threatens him. He got his ass handed to him by Maggie and even with fighting walkers he wasn't as effective. Calling upon Negans help is the wildcard, but as much as we all want to see him go medieval on the Whisperers for storyline purposes he is a dangerous threat even to Rick's communities.

 

It will be interesting to see how Rick fares against the upcoming betrayal. Because the crippled are the weak, and unless we see Rick do something insane to regain control I'm thinking he isn't going to survive much longer...at least not as the leader.

Am I the only one thinking Rick will do the betraying rather than being betrayed? It could maybe coincide with the lie he's crafting. I think the craziest thing I can imagine is Rick Lucille-ing someone in front of everyone and using them as a scapegoat. Maybe claiming they were working with the Whisperers. It's hard to imagine him going that dark but it's a long issue and if something crazy happens early on it could be justified by the end of the story.

 

I don't know who he would do it to though. Can't be Lydia, she just got to Hilltop. I'd guess Dwight but he's on the next two covers.

This looks to be a pretty big one like #100. I still recall waiting around on these forums for that one to drop too, must be closing in on 4 years ago now? Jeeesus Monroe, where does the time go huh?

I remember I had some theories regarding the possible events in that issue, the most over the top one I think was that Hilltop would be overrun. Maybe we'll see that come about somehow this issue? And another theory to trot forth from #100 is that Andrea might be in danger? Well for now they're the only crackpot theories I offer, heh. Not long to wait now... Getting excited.
