Hello everyone.  I am a newbie who doesn't particularly post a lot on things like this, but this site seems well moderated and the discussions pretty thoughtful, so I thought I would discuss something that has been nagging on my mind.  For those of you who don't or have not read the comics and do not want to see potential spoliers regarding upcoming characters, you might want to stop here.

I think it was mentioned in the rumor mill that Michonne would soon be introduced to the show.  At first, I was geeked about it since since she is the baddest of the bad (best believe she's the baddest..) However, after watching the first few episodes of Season 2, I am getting to like Daryl a lot and find his bad-ass-with-a-soft-side thing pretty intriguing.  It seems that these two characters (will) overlap a lot in terms of their character make up and role within the group.  

Are there any rumors or specualtions ou there about how they may potentially play off this dynamic?  I would hate to see Daryl taken out in some way (leave the group, die, etc.) as I am really digging his character, but I would hate to see a drastically altered Michonne that may basically just become a brand new character with a familiar name.  Any thoughts?

If I were the writers I'd have a Daryl + Michonne play off. Yep that's right, there's your couple right there.

That would be kind of weird and interesting, wouldn't it?  I had actually thought of that, but I feel concentrating all of the ass-kickers into one sub-group might result in a really far off straying from the source material... Then again , it seems they may be building either an Andrea + Daryl or Andrea + Shane arc in the series which totally veers from the Andrea + Dale thing in the books.  Heck, I guess Shane being alive is the biggest departure of them all!  Poor Otis....

I think having Darryl and Michonne together opens the door for all sorts of possibilities. I don't think you have to remove Darryl to make room for Michonne. I'd hate to see him go myself. They may clash a bit but I think Michonne would respect his strength and his courage. In her own way. I think they might actually get along. As well as Michonne gets along with anyone

But a romance? I kinda doubt it.

But seriously, imagine that pairing. And imagine Merle coming back later to find that pairing.

Sure I can - I have 3 including the ones from Kill Bill (bride and groom) BUT I have no skillz....I can just swing them around all freaky like.

That's cool. That would be very entertaining to see. Didn't we go over why Daryl was a bad choice? Merle revenge, etc?

I actually used to practice with an old civil war sword and bayonet. Yep, I was immortal, born in the plains of Indiana and I could not die.

I'm hoping there is room for two BAMF on the show. I'd hate to lose Daryl and I definitely want to see Michonne.

That's my biggest fear: that they will replace Michonne in some way.  Daryl's presence may cause them to elect either not to introduce her or replace her BAMF role with Daryl and alter her significantly!  I would not want that to happen, but now I am not liking the idea of possibly removing Daryl.  Too much character overlap is probably not a good idea when writing a script...

I  think it would be great if they add Her & She & Daryl DO hook up.
Shane & Andrea continue their relationship & both get too haughty & after enough episodes have passed to make the pairing of both couples credible have Shane kill a member of the group (Dale?) & split with Andrea.
They could build the inevitable face off of the 2 couples for the season finale, those 4 fighting it out in the middle of a zombie infested area.
